Here is what many bloggers face when it comes to blogging. There are many things that a blogger will face:
They sometimes don't know what to blog about, many people face this and hey nobody's perfect.
Procastination, this seems to be the main point what people do. If they are procratinating to blog, then why do they have a blog in the first place?
Cobwebs on their blogs. Yes what I mean is that when people don't view your blogs (which XTR & I are facing at the moment). This means you should try and advertise your blogs as much as you can but sometimes it wouldn't work but just keep trying.
Internet problems - If you don't pay your bills, then you're screwed. Just pay your bills on time.
There are many other reasons why bloggers are facing problems!
Here is the truth about Virgin Megastore in the U.A.E and trust me it's not that great.Virgin Megastore is one of Dubai's most ripped off stores ever. From what I've seen and also from what I've heard is that Virgin Megastore is ripping people off and it's not fair that they do this to us. For example you want to go and buy a music CD (name any singer of your choice) and the price range for it is between 60DHS and 300DHS and this is only in the U.A.E.
So try going out of Dubai, example London and buy the same exact music CD it costs (converting from the British Pound to Dirhams) and it's price range is between 40DHS to 70DHS.
Compare and contrast people!
Also since Dubai's law that states "...blah blah blah anything such as porn, violent, drug related or whatever is banned in the U.A.E." I understand that Dubai is trying to protect us from bad things like pornographic materials, hey that is completely understandable but that doesn't mean you have to go over the limit and say "oh yeah you're looking for singles (CDs), well I'm sorry to tell you that those are banned in the U.A.E.". It's singles as in single albums not dru
gs. Can't you understand that? Well I believe that Etislut has something to do with this.
Also try and see how slow Virgin Megastore gets their items (such as video games, movies or even music". It takes them a freaking long time to receive them. By the time they release them, nobody's interested in buying them because everyone would have already ordered it from ebay or Amazon.
I also went to Virgin about a few months ago and I asked one of their employees about if they have Dido's album "Safe Trip Home" but the deluxe edition. Here's what happened:
I went to the mall one day with one of my friends and my friend and I were you know looking around Virgin Megastore to see if they got anything new. So my friend went looking at the new games that they had received and I was like fine while he's doing that let me ask one of the employees if they have Dido's latest album. So I went and asked one of them.
Me: "umm, excuse me"
Virgin Employee: " Yes, sir, how can I help ypu?"
Me: " Yes, I'm searching for Dido's new album STH (Safe Trip Home) but I'm searching for the delux edition."
Virgin Emplyee: "OK sir, let me check our system"
So I follow the employee to the computer and she starts checking to see if the product is available.
Virgin Employee: " it will be coming soon"
Me: "ok, do you have any idea when it will be out?"
Virgin Emplyee: "no sire, not really. Why don't you come back in 2 weeks?"
Me: "OK, thanks for your help"
So I left Virgin Megastore and I went out and chilled with my friend. Then 2 weeks later I went back to Virgin Megastore and I looked for that album and didn't find it, so I asked another employee for help
Me: "Hello, do you have any idea when STH will be released?"
Virgin Employee: "hmm, STH by Dido right?"
Me: "yes"
Virgin Employee: "Well we have the economy edition"
Me: "no I know you have that but I'm searching for the Deluxe edtion"
Virgin Employee: "Let me check the system"
So I follow him and I wait for the answer. a few minutes later he gives me an answer.
Virgin Employee: "no sir, we never heard about that"
Me: "excuse me, it was advertised around the entire world, now don't tell me that you've never heard of it?"
Virgin Employee: " No sir, I've heard of it"
Me: "wow, and they say that Virgin Megastore is the best place to get things, I knew I should have ordered it online."
Virgin Employee: "sir, that album is banned in the Emirates"
Me: "no, seriously?"
the employee looked at me in a serious way.
Me: "do you have any idea why it was banned?"
Virgin Employee: " no sir,unfortunately it says in our system that it's banned so we cannot get it for you."
So that was it, I got pissed and then....
Me: "man, what's this nonsense saying that her album is banned and you're allowing all the other LAME albums like Christina Angulaira performing in a skimpy outfit?"
Virgin Employee "sir but it says that it's banned"
Me: "well if it's gonna be banned I might as well shop somewhere else instead of here. For example I can get my games from Computer Plaza and my movies from spinneys or even download them, I don't need to come back and shop here again since for every single thing I ask you say it's banned when it's not supposed to be banned. I think from now on I'll go out of town just to get what I want instead of getting ripped off here!"
So I left the store and I managed to get Dido's Album from London for 45DHS along with the single for a total of 55 DHS. Not bad right :)
But as for Virgin Megastore they lie to you and they cheat you. I think Virgin's Motto is
"Come and get ripped off from us first before you go anywhere".
Screw you virgin, I'm happy with what I have now.
Also to tell you the truth, ONLY today was an exception that I went and bought something from them. I bought 2 things a birthday present for my big bro and Saint's Row 2 for me :)
OF course I got ripped off because all the other places were too far away and I had no means of transportation except my mom took me to the Mercato and thats where I got it from!

It has been about 2 days now since I had gotten this horrible cold and it's starting to piss me off. For the past 48 hours I have been sneezing a lot and blowing my stuffy nose. Man, I am feeling so bad and I'm also feeling a little weak. I don't know how I got this cold but I'm guessing that ever since the trip to Al Ain, since everyone got sick (except for a few people). I managed to get sick as well but a few days later. And to make my life worse, I have to stay in university from 8AM - 7:30PM. Isn't my life just wonderful or what (I love being sarcastic in cases like this). I think this is how the flu is transferred to humans. Just look at the image above and be very careful not to get it. Here are some useful tips on how to get rid of it and I am trying these out (this is only in mild cases):
Rest - beauty sleep is very important
Take medicines that relieve symptoms and help you rest (only if it's that necessary)
Drink plenty of liquids (water, orange juice but not pepsi)
Avoid aspirin (since too much if that is bad for the liver)
Avoid alcohol and tobacco ("|filthy habit, drink too much" quoted by XTR
Avoid antibiotics (unless necessary for another illness)
Chicken soup does indeed help congestion and body aches. The hot steam from the soup may be its chief advantage, although laboratory studies have actually reported that ingredients in the soup may have anti-inflammatory effects. In fact, any hot beverage may have similar soothing effects from steam. Ginger tea, fruit juice, and hot tea with honey and lemon may all be helpful.

Oh God, I am so hot. During the past couple of days I swear to God that my AC was broken because the "compressor" blew up (eh?). You might ask how did that happen, well it was because of the sandstorm we had in Dubai a long time ago. There was sand everywhere in the compressor and then one day it went "POOF". Say hello to hot air and start melting.
So the repair man came to replace the blown up compressor and guess what it was working for a whole 3 days until "POOF" again. Now it's a billion degrees in my bedroom. How inconvinient, I can't even sleep since it's too hot in here.
What shall I do to keep cool since it's 1AM right now? I feel like fire and I'm trying to keep cool by drinking some water (but not too much of it).

What was your favourite album of 2008?
Dido replies: My favourite album of the year (always hard this question) was probably the Bon Iver album (For Emily, Forever Ago). I listened to it a lot when I was in LA and driving along the coast. It's a great album to be able to listen from start to finish and get transported into a different world and mood. Absolutely beautiful.
Note: I don't know who Bon Iver is, you have to google him up :-)
Today I went on my First photography trip to Al Ain. I went with my university from 10AM on Friday Morning and I came home at 9:30PM. Yeah I know the trip was really long but it was a lot of fun. So the thing is that there were many students going on the trip and there wasn't enough space on one bus, so we went in 2 different buses . It took 2 hours to go and 2 hours to come back (only if there is no traffic, if there was then expect more time).
We went to the mountains, where we had our lunch of course. Then we went to Mubazzarah, which is a park like place. They have Al Ain's Hot Springs there and a nice mountain to go hiking (which was a lot of fun) and I would highly recommend going there if you're there.
I managed to take a lot of pictures over there and I will be publishing them on FaceBook which will be done tomorrow night and it will be published on my blog during the next few days. Expect delays on my blog for the next few days.
Yes I've finally had a nervous meltdown thanks to my not so amazing life. After having a rough day sturggling with my "Calculus 1". I think I've had it up to here with Calculus 1. It's driving me nuts. The teacher literally flunked 89% of the class. NOBODY is happy and everyone is in a crappy mood including me.
Well this is why this week is considered as "STRESSED OUT" week. I hope you all understand that I won't be blogging much nowadays since my university is also giving me a tough time with all the work they keep piling up on me. I just can't stand it. Now I basically have NO SOCIAL LIFE. The only thing I'm supposed to do is study as if there is no tomorrow. Just study. If I hear that word one more time I am going to lose it and you wouldn't want that to happen, now would you?
Well the life in Dubai is kind of quiet during the past few days. With the foreigners leaving town, it's starting to become nice and quiet. This means that there is less traffic nowadays on the road. Also since many people have started fleeing Dubai due to the economic crises, the police have been on strict guard. Not like before.
So nowadays the police have been on strict duty since this morning. I have no idea what's going on, I'm confused myself. Maybe a famous person is coming to Dubai or something. I don't know. Also from what I've been hearing is that the police is now checking everyone in the car. It's more like a car search type of thing. Like they would stop the driver and ask for the driver registration and then they would see if you're drunk or not. But that's not 100% confirmed. Well it's Dubai's right to have the police check on you. This would mean that they are protecting us from harm.

Here is a very good topic. The Range Rover (crap car) VS The Maybach (exquisite car). I would have to admit in Dubai you can see a bunch of fugly range rovers, which is destroying the beautiful scenery of Dubai and I have to admit that the range rover looks really crappy. I'm guessing the person that came up with this idea was completely retarded. I swear this car looks like garbage and the people who drive this (no offense) simply must be insane. I would never get caught dead driving a crappy car like that. It makes me want to puke but on the other hand. I wouldn't mind driving the Maybach (exquisite car). There are many things that I can say about the maybach but I'll mention 2 of them because the rest of it you have to find it out on your own:
It's made of high quality material and not any of the crappy material that you would find in any other car.
Many famous people are seen using this car (like Rose & Sage from TV's Privileged)
Other than that the only thing that ruins it is that the Maybach is too expensive. Trust me I've seen the price of this and it's costs more than a 10 carat diamond ring. Wow, it's that expensive. But when it comes to the Range Rover, you can see at least over a 100 of them zooming about accross the U.A.E. Also in Barbadous. And the Maybach is seen in some parts of the U.A.E. and in America and in European Union, also in Bill Gate's Garage :P

My life seems to be pretty amazing (despite the fact I don't get time to socialize with my friends that much anymore :( and it sucks). Let's just forget the fact that I am stressed almost every single day and I'm not the only one that get's stressed. Everyone gets stressed once in a while.
Anyway life is amazing since we are alive and have our health. If we didn't have our health, we would've been dead by now. Well I thought that Jem has a song for this post and she does, it's called "It's Amazing".

Dear Dido. I like the song Do You Have a Little Time as performed on the album Life For Rent, but I absolutely love this song as performed on Live at Brixton Academy. My question is if you think there is an optimal performance (producing, creation) for each song/melody, or that it can be performed in very different ways, each way liked by another group of people?
Dido replies: Actually the Live at Brixton Academy is the first version of that song as I wrote it. I often like to go back to the first versions when I'm performing live. The one on the record is a different version that came about when I heard a brilliant sample that Mark Bates was working with in the other room in the studio and we decided that song worked really well over it. But in answer to your question - I don't know. I think the beauty of songs is that once the core of the song is there there are indeed a million ways to do it. But I tend not to think too much about it and just take the song where it wants to go naturally. Whether that's on record or whether that's live. And yes, I'm sure that different people like different versions.
Where is your favorite beach?
Dido replies: My favorite place in the world is Connemara in the west of Ireland. The beaches there are so incredibly beautiful and empty and hold so many memories for me. I used to spend a lot of time near the Twelve Bens (a little mountain range that goes down to the sea). Without a doubt my favorite place in the world.
I wonder, do you remember a record you got as a present when you were a child (maybe as a Christmas gift?), and which you still listen to today?
Dido replies: Yes! I remember one year my brother gave me a collection of my first albums (I'd only ever managed to save up enough for singles at that stage in my life) all of which I loved and had a huge influence on me I think. I remember among them was Yellow Moon by the Neville Brothers, Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush, I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got by Sinead O'Connor, a Chet Baker record, an Odyssey album, a Chieftains album. A bit of variety, but all albums I still absolutely love.
I know I'm posting if there's no tomorrow but what can I do. But Here is a remix by Dido and Faithless. It's called Salva Mea. The video is here. Calculus Quiz: The reason why we always get stressed out
Man, I am so worried because tomorrow I am having my big huge calculus quiz. It's worth 15% of the grade. There is going to be a total number of 5 quizzes and all those quizzes put together is worth 65% of my grade. So I hope all of you will understand that I am having a nervous break down.
Oh God. If only Calculus was easy but unfortunatly I was incorrect.

As you can see here, clouds have formed all over dubai. Around 5:30PM and there was no source that it was going to be a thunderstorm. People in the "Palm" area said that they did not detect any strong gushing winds at all. It was a little windy and it was a little warmer than usual.
Also at around 9:00pm it had finally drizzled in Barsha . The good thing about the drizzle was that there was visibility and you could see the Burj Dubai, but not 100%. It was clear.
A few minutes later the rain just got a little rough, there was a little more rain than expected in some parts of the Emirates but in the rest it was as dry as a river. I blame global warming.

What was your inspiration behind Burnin' Love? As soon as I heard it I could just see it on a show like Grey's Anatomy. It's just a beautiful song.
Dido replies: I'm so glad you like it. It's definitely one of my favourites. I wrote it with Citizen Cope and the chorus lyric is his lyric. It was the first song we wrote together. We just sat down and it came out in the most natural way possible. I loved working with him. I love his voice and I love that it's not something I would have written on my own. We wrote it in New York but actually it's my favourite song to listen to on the album as I drive around Hollywood in the late afternoon/early evening. It just feels right.
When you write a song, which room of the house do you write in? Or do ideas come to you spontaneously and you write there and then?
Dido replies: Good question. It made me think if there is a room I write more in. I have a room with a piano with skylights so I can see the sky and do a lot of recording and writing in there but I also seem to have written a huge amount of songs at the kitchen counter. Quiet Times was written at the kitchen table, Summer was recorded in the kitchen, Grafton Street at the kitchen counter. You know what, the more I think about it, they're mostly written in the kitchen. :-) I also write a lot while I'm walking around London and then just either try and remember my ideas or put them into a Dictaphone or my mobile phone. I walk to most places in London and listen to my ipod and it gives me so many ideas and makes me love the way that music makes me feel, more every day.
I was wondering if and when you intended to go on tour next? Thanks in advance.
Dido replies: I think I'm going to do a proper tour after the next record. I've written and recorded so much recently and am just loving being in the studio and doing that at the moment. So I imagine another record will be released before the next tour. I'm really looking forward to touring when we do though. We had such an amazing time last time. Meeting so many people, playing in incredible outdoor venues in the summer. I felt so lucky every day. By the time I've finished all this recording I'll be very excited to be out!

Also I would like to point out that The Sims 2 might not be over, I think it's not over but I don't know. Anyways I am disappointed with EA because this game was supposed to be out THIS February but unfortunately it's not going to be released because it's possible that EA never finished making The Sims 3, but who knows. Also expect a major update tomorrow!
I'm going crazy with all this stress of having to worry about this *shudders* stupid quiz which is happening on Monday the 9th of February 2009. This song represents my sanity for today.
Do I have a little time? For what you may ask? Well I basically have no time this week to do anything for myself. There is no "Me" time anymore :( because of the amount of HW & Projects I've been receiving. Also I had started this club in my university (Name is confidential) and I managed to start a Games Club. Oh God, Finally! Now my university will be more fun (at last) but so time consuming. I also joined many clubs as well such as The News Club, Health & Environment Club and The Photography Club (it's about time I take some pictures for Fran's sake!). So I will be busy with all of that. Next I am having the biggest quiz ever next week on Monday and I doubt I will be blogging a lot during the weekend. Life is passing me by, when I move this quickly. I should try and stop for a while and blog for sometime. Maybe on Thursday night I'll blog a bit but I doubt it.
