I am so happy nowadays, I finished my Calculus exam and it took hours and days for me to finish studying for that. My Calculus exam was on the 29th of April 2009. Now that I got that subject over it was time to continue studying for the other subjects, I am almost done studying my Biology exam. I spent a long time studying for these subjects and they are causing a lot of stress. Hopefully by the time I finish my Biology exam (which is this Saturday, 2nd of May 2009), I am so going to chill this time. The reason why I'll be chilling is because my last exam is English 2 and thank God I finished studying for that. Now all what I have to do is to some revision on the 4th of May, 2009. Then on the 5th of May, which is on Tuesday I will be finishing ALL my finals by 3PM. YAY!!!!!!!!!

There will be a major update on my blog during the summer of 2009!

Health Alert:

Has anyone heard of the Swine Flu? We all heard of the Bird Flu right and it's caused by birds that got sick with some disease and it's a fatal disease. Well enough about the Bird flu and listen to what the Swine Flu is. We all know that the word 'Swine' comes from the word pig (look it up in the dictionary).

Gulf News has managed to answer some questions for us regarding the Swine Flu:

What is it? It is a virus that mutated from pigs and transmitted to some humans -gross, Thank God Muslims Don't eat pig.

Which places have been affected?Mexico City, California and Texas, so far. - Ahem, New York has been recently affected

How many have been killed? 81 people  in Mexico City

How many have been infected? 18 confirmed cases in Mexico and eight in the United States. Authorities are investigating 1,300 more suspected cases. - Not only that, also in NYC some students got infected with that virus (don't ask me how that happened) and they had to shutdown that school due to the disease. Over 10 students got infected and it's really bad at the moment.

Is there a cure? The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website states that there is no vaccine to specifically protect humans from swine flu, only to protect pigs. Although GlaxoSmithKline Plc's flu treatment Relenza and Roche Holding AG's Tamiflu appear effective against the strains of the virus the CDC has tested. - Basically we're all screwed since there is no cure for this sickness.

What are authorities doing to contain the virus? The World Health Organization went on high alert, dispatching top experts to the United States and Mexico. The CDC has also set up emergency operation centres.  - One guy from the CDC told the news reporter this "It's too late to contain the virus because it's already spreading really fast", just our luck :(

Easy ways to protect against infection

Little can be done to prevent an outbreak of flu from spreading, health experts caution, but they say common sense measures can help individuals protect themselves. Practice the following:

- Wash your hands frequently

- Cover your cough or your sneeze

- Use alcohol-based gel or foam hand sanitizers

- If you have flu-like symptoms, stay away from work or public transportation and stay away from us!!!

- Social distancing. Stay away from people who might be infected including me.

- Wear a mask so that you can cover your nose and mouth, we don't want to catch the disease from you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stress & I:

My life has been so busy lately. This week is considered to be Torture Week. These finals are driving me insane. They are driving me up the wall (literally speaking of course), I wish these exams would just end already. Now almost everyone that I know at C.U.D is starting to get nervous and stressed out because of these freaking finals. The good thing about it is that everyone will be done by the 7th of May 2009 and some others will hopefully be done before .  Now lets see what else is happening in my life. Tonight at 12:00AM (Midnight) my big brother and my mother are both travelling to America, because they both have some work to do there while me, my little brother, Mario & my grandpa stay in Dubai. As you can see I would travel with them but unfortunately I have to do these insane exams and just get them over with.  Enough about me. Now stay tuned for a post about the world news :)

Dido: Q&A

Do you have the need to create a special atmosphere (it could be songs, or a place where you like to be, etc) to write your songs and thinking about the melody when you are composing?

Dido replies: No is the simple answer. I can write anywhere. The most prolific place for writing is my kitchen table, though. A huge amount of my songs have been written there. I get pretty inspired on planes too. The lack of oxygen seems to give me good ideas.Do you like gardening? Are you any good? Got any top tips?

Dido replies: I’m hopeless but I’ve been trying with mine. It’s a whole new world. My advice is to get a few gnomes, let it gr

Time To Hit The Books:

It is with great regret to inform you that I will not be blogging starting from the 26th of April, 2009. The reason why I won't be blogging on the 26th of April is because I will be having 2 hard exams which I have to study for but I just can't help it.

The exams that I'll be having is that obvious, it's Calculus 1 and Biology. These 2 subjects require a lot of time and effort in order for me to get a good mark. But don't you worry about me, I'll be back blogging on the 3rd of May 2009. Exams can be such a b***h and they are not fun. The only thing it causes is stress. Many people end up getting stressed out and it causes them to do badly in exams. Well I can NEVER say that exams are fun. Hah, don't make me laugh. The day I say that pigs will start flying over a blue moon. :P

Titanic Talk?

WTF is going on, everyone nowadays are starting to discuss things about the movie Titanic. Well Titanic was the ship of dreams until it sank :P

Today I went to the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel for dinner and believe me, I heard people talk about the Titanic. They were going on like Titanic this and Titanic that, but that's not all as soon as I finished having my dinner, my mom and I heard the pianist (the person who plays the piano) play a song from the Titanic. What's this? Then when I come home and I go on Sapphire Sims 2 (SS2), and they have a new theme this week called "Titanic Week". LOL!

The titanic is officially famous again :P

Don't worry I am not going to rename this week into Titanic Week. That would be totally absurd if I did that.

The Sims 3 Information: The Letter From Rod Humble

Rod Humble had posted a letter to all the Simmers out there and he said:

How great is that, we do NOT have to go online when we install The Sims 3 and authenticate it but it will have a disc protection thing. I think that thing is to prevent it from being copied but at least it's coming out on the 2nd of June 2009 :D

The Sims 3 Information: Cheats?

About 3 cheats were leaked out on the internet, and Infinite Sims have posted them on their site. Here they are:

• Kaching - Add's § 1'000 to your families money
• Motherlode - Add's § 50'000 to your famillies money
• MoveObjects On/Off - Removes guides and allows objects to be moved out of their designated grid (As in The Sims and Sims 2)

As you can see all of these cheats are just the same as in The Sims 2 (except for move_objects on/off was there since The Sims 1)

but here is what Infinite Sims said:
"Dutch gaming site, games guide has confirmed the first of The Sims 3 Cheats, these may not be entirely news as these were previously Sims 2 Cheats, but will be active in The Sims 3"
How amazing is that, in less than a 50 Days some cheats were found :P

Is it me or is it starting to getting hot in here?

Man the weather nowadays is starting to get warmer by the minute. I remember when it used to be nice and cool during the winter but who am I kidding Dubai is a desert and it is over a billion degrees. Now it's time to say goodbye to all the rain and the hail and the amazing cool weather and say hello to to the unbearable heatwave.

I know that during the summer vacation (around June all the way through August) it's going to be over 40*C in Dubai and we cannot really do anything about that except complain and say that global warming is doing this to us. 

What do people do during this weather?

Families tend to leave Dubai straight away after their children finishes their school and they try to go to a place cooler than Dubai (maybe like Alaska or something) or they might end up going back to their home country (from whereever they came from). Others such as teenagers either get part time jobs during the summer, party all day & night or they have summer school to attend to. Young Adults have either courses in the university (such as Summer 1 / Summer 2) or they are busy doing something else (don't ask me what, they could be travelling or something else). Elderly People end up travelling to exotic places with their loved ones or sometimes they might end up staying at home and enjoying the fun in the city wherever they are.

How do you pick your setlists?

Dido replies: I definitely think pretty carefully about taking the audience on a journey as I would when choosing the order of an album. I pick the songs that are the most fun to do live and then create highs and lows and quiet moments and jumping around moments. The lighting is also really satisfying to work on as it’s something I really enjoy when I go to a show myself - when I feel like I can see the music.

What's the best thing you've ever made yourself (other than music)?

Dido replies: A painted lampshade. My proudest art moment... :-)

Do you like the cinema? If your answer is yes (like I think) what is the last movie did you see? And what is your favorite movie?

Dido replies: The last movie I saw was on a plane last week and it was called Elegy. It was good actually. It’s hard to pick my favourite movie. But a few highlights of my life were seeing the Godfather movies, Star Wars (I wanted to watch them every weekend), Shawshank Redemption, Goodfellas, most Pedro Almodóvar movies, Midnight Cowboy, the Graduate, ET (I went to see it for my birthday when I was about 10 and it was the first movie that made me cry). The next movie that made me cry uncontrollably was Gone With The Wind. Jaws was another favourite. I didn’t go in the sea for about 2 years after seeing that.

What was your dream job when you were a child? A singer?

Dido replies: A tennis player. Completely unrealistic, but I was just obsessed with it.

Horrible Wednesday:

Here is what my design class bitch teacher Ms Maya looks like. The same goes for that class snitch and that total bitch Lilly!

On Wednesday the 15th of April 2009, I had the worst day of my life. OK I am going to tell you why my day turned out like that.

It's Wednesday morning and I have to submit my Final Project A to my Design Class Bitch teacher Ms. Maya Pottenkulam and here I am all happy to submit my project. When all of the sudden that stupid Indian teacher from Kerela refused to accept my project. She accepted EVERYONE elses projects except mine. I was actually confused at first. So here I am in class and my project is due at 9AM and I had arrived at 8AM. As soon as it turned 8:45AM I just started heading to class and I reached there at 8:47AM (2 minute difference :P ). So here I am I arrive to class and I submit my work and that bitch design teacher says "Your work looks good" so I am happy to hear about that, won't you be happy if your teacher said that. As the time passes by and the clock strucks 10:30AM thats when everything went berserk. This girl Lilly (who is the class snitch as well as the class bitch) comes up to me and looks at my  work and says that it looks pathetic. So I look at her and I tell her this "Lillt the only thing you ever do here is treat  me like crap, and frankly I don't care. So lilly if you don't mind just go back to your seat and just MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!" And she was standing there looking at me and I told her to go back to her seat and mind her own damn business. I didn't really care about her at all that stupid Asian should just mind her own business. OK now back to Ms Maya (the design class bitch). Now it's 10:34 and I ask the teacher to explain what the second part of the project was and I swear I had no clue what I was supposed to do. So Ms Maya comes over and she explains to me what I'm supposed to do, then all of the sudden she says "I need to talk to you outside privately". I was confused to I followed her out the door and then she sits down on the ledge and looks at me in a serious way and asks me this question. "Is this your work?" and I replay "Yes Ms Maya that is my work." and she looks at it again and says "I'm sorry but I do not believe that this is your work"! 

I freaked out and I asked her why didn't she believe that it was my work. This project took about 8 days to finish and she didn't believe me that I did this project. So I started getting a little pissed and then out of no where she threatened to EXPEL me. What The F**k is wrong with that FUGLY BITCH.  As soon as she said that I asked her why are you threatning me and she said that she thinks someone else did my work other than me. I was like WTF man. No I didn't say thatr to her and I tried explaining to her that I did it myself. She said that she is going to send me to the deans office and get them to expel me. I was pissed and she asked me this question : "Are you angry at me? " and I replied "no miss" I said that in the most sarcastic way ever.No no no no no, I am going to get her fired from the university and I will literally call the cops on her and then deport her and let her go back to her f**king country or where ever the hell she came from.  I told EVERYONE in the university about her and now on Sunday I am going to talk to the dean myself and tell him what has happened in the class with her!

Also I forgot to mention that I told her at the end when she threatned to expel me I said that if she expels me I will transfer to another university and if any of my friends ask me why I left I will blame it on that BITCH maya.

It's now Monday the 13th of April 2009 and I am extremely tired because of my long day in the university. I have been there for such a long time. I was there since 7:45AM And I Came home at 7:45PM. Wow, I was there for exactly 12 hours. It's better if I just move into the university and claim one of the class rooms :P just kidding.
No but I'm glad to be home, I just pushed the door and I am home now and all I see is you... lol I'm singing Dido's song Thank You :P
But now it's time to relax and forget about the calculus quiz that I did, and that is a long story and I'm not in the mood to discuss about it.

Who Is Ashley Newbrough?

PC Issues:

My computer has been going crazy and I have had it up to here with it. Thats it, I don't give a damn about it anymore. I will be changing my pc as of this summer. So please bare with me until I fix this damn issue. I will tell you how my pc has been functioning for the past few days:

• Windows is EXTREMELY SLOW, Slower than my turtle. It takes about 30 mins just for it to turn on and load.
• My pc is TOO NOISY. When the windows is loading the sound it makes for the busy sign just pisses the daylights out of me.
• The sound quality and the videos I watch on my stupid pc are just CHOPPY AS HELL
• Firefox, Internet Explorer & Google Chrome is EXTREMLY SLOW. IT'S SO SLOW THAT IT TAKES AT LEAST 45 MINS FOR IT TO WORK AND THEN IT FREEZES!!!!!!!!!

This is how bad it is. Now I am literally pissed off. Here is what I plan to do. Starting from the 11th of May 2009, I am literally going to back EVERYTHING from my computer and then I am going to throw it out the window (literally speaking). I will do that in front of the computer man and I will show him that he CANNOT sell any slow computers ever. Kiss goodbye to this pc. The cover is even written "Toss". What does that mean? TOSS ME OUT THE WINDOW!!!!!!!!!

And I'm Tired And Bored:

Man this has been such a busy week. I swear this week has been driving everyone up the wall (literally speaking) and there are only 4 weeks of university left (it includes the final exams as well) and then it's summer vacation. I am now so tired of waiting for the summer vacation. I need a vacation really fast so that I could finally get some rest because I am feeling tired and bored at the moment and not forgetting that my stress level has gone up over 500%.
My friends have been asking me this question "Are you going to be taking Summer 1 Courses?" and here is my answer "NO and a billion times NO". I am simply going to relax during the summer and I will be talking about that later this week. Oh yeah also expect to see less updates until the 12th of May 2009 and then you will see the biggest update on my birthday :)

Computer Issues:

Ask my pc to function normally for one day and see if that will work. It will only work when there's a blue moon in the sky and pigs would be flying on the same day!

Etislut requires people to hack them so they could just stop this nonsense!

The word "Error" is referred to my pc. It's full of errors that are driving me crazy!

Almost every single computer is fast but mine, it's just extremely slow.

This is what the computer guy would do to my pc, he would first open up the pc and see what the problem is then he would come up with the only solution "FORMAT" the pc. And that's the only solution for everything!

Back away from my pc or else it will explode!!!!

Where can I hire a person that cab get rid of obsolete computers? I need that!

My computer is literally slow, msn takes forever to work, firefox & goodle chrome is literally slow and it takes a million years for the pc to load.....

Disturbing Weather In The U.A.E : Day 7

Day 7

It's day 7 and it's midnight (12:00AM), what's going on outside? I hear a howling sound coming from the windows. This seems to be a little freaky, hmm what's sound? is it my cat? no, then what is it? So I go closer to the window even though I'm a little scared I'm brave enough to go and see what that sound is. So I slowly go and creep up towards the window and I open the window and then a big huge gush of wind blows into my face. All the strong breeze flowing into my room like a river into the sea, amazing was the view. So I look outside and I see plastic bags flying outside and I see my mother's plant pot is flying with it. How strange is that? So I try to close the window even though the strong wind is pushing me away and my roomie knocks on my doors and then he opens it and he see's that the window is opened and I'm trying to close it. So he comes up and helps me close the window. As soon as the window is closed he asks me "Why did you open the window?" And I replied "I was trying to get some air and I kept hearing this howling sound". So he was like whatever man.  Both of us were just looking at the state of my room and how dusty it became after leaving the window opened for quite sometime. We both went and tried to clean it up. Then we saw a flash of light out the window. "oh no was that just a flash of lightning?" and he was speechless. So we were both decided to go down and see what else is happening at 1AM. When we went down we saw the umbrella outside sitting near the pool was had flown into to the tree and the table was upside down and all the chairs had flown into the swimming again. How great is that? Now we are inside, just looking out the window. And then it just starts raining while the wind is still blowing. Then my phone rings and my friend that's on the phone says "Did you see that? the Burj Dubai got struck by lightning." So he was pretty excited about that.  I guess not, how could I see that when I am living further away from it, doesn't anyone agree with me? So there we were, just looking out at all the mess that's going on outside. So my friend and I decided to call it a night and let's just go to sleep and we would deal with it in the morning. So that's the end of my story. I will not continue this story since this is the final end of the story. It's time to move on to a new topic!

Fire Blazes Through Grocery Store:

It's 8:38AM on the 1st of April 2009 and my friends and I have just witnessed a fire in the building next to our university. The fire took place about 20 minutes ago at around 8:20AM and the fire was pretty bad. From what I've heard and seen was just a little bad. So here's the story.
I was arriving to the university about 8:10AM this morning and as I was pulling up towards the parking, my driver says "Hey, look there's smoke" and I told him that it was nothing. It could have been some construction going on or maybe the cafeteria was preparing some food and the food got burnt or something. So he just dropped me to university and then headed home. So I went inside and greeted my friends and we were sitting down and talking about what classes we're having today and all that. When suddenly we heard a lot of sirens pass by the D block. We were sort of confused why the sirens were going close to our university. So my friends and I decided we were going to go and check out what had happened around the area, so before we left I got my camera and then we went off to see what had happened. So my friends and I cross the road and we head towards the new Union Co-Op and we see that close to the Co-Op there's a small cafeteria called "Metro Cafeteria" and right next to that there is a small grocery store. So surrounding the grocery store were all the fire engines, ambulances & even police cars. The police was even there and they were trying to tell all pedestrians to move away from the buildings and that there was "nothing to see here", even though there was. So I took my camera and turned it on and started taking a lot of pictures. It seems to be that the grocery store (not the Co-Op) had caught fire. Well just the electrical part caught fire and it was pretty bad. So the firemen were busy taking all the burnt things out and then my friends and I left.

UPDATE: There was a rumor going on on the 2nd of April and I believe that that rumor is true, it seems there was another fire happened earlier today and it was pretty bad. When I say bad as in terrible. There smoke from the fire was everywhere, including bu CUD. Let's hope we get that day off so then we could all chillax (new word from my friend). I'll add the pictures later this week because right now I seem to be having trouble with my pc. So expect delays!
