Where on Earth Is Retrotrut?

During the past few weeks I have been really busy working on ALL my assignments for my university. And you wouldn't believe how much work the university has been giving us. There were so many group presentations that I had to finish (actually there is one more left) and then there were all those midterms that I had to study for. As you can see the Midterm Schedule was extended for 2 weeks and now I just finished the last midterm yesterday.

Now the other reason why I was also busy was because other than my university work, I also had driving classes and then I had my first test on the 20th of September and Al Hamdulillah I passed the first test which was the Parking Garage Test. Then on the 11th of October I had my next Test, which was the Assesment Test and I passed it :D
The third test that I had was last Thursday the 22nd of October and it was the Signal Test and I passed that and now I will be having my Final Driving Test on the 4th of November. Wish me luck on that day!

The latest seatbelt design is quite fashionable these days!

What's Wrong With The Music Of 2009?

What's with all the music singers this year? Why in the world are they playing horrible music? What's wrong with their music?
Over the past couple of years, I know there have been many ups and downs but it seems to be affecting the singers. Sure, some people think that the music that these singers of this year, have "amazing" lyrics or their music is just "awesome". Well I'm sorry to tell you but this year ALL the new singers are really untalented and their music is really awful. Maybe there are very few singers that haven't changed that much (like Dido, Jem and also the DJ's have some really amazing music) and to tell you the truth this year the music is really horrible.
Let's talk about some singers, lets see there is Katy Perry and she sang so many songs such as "I Kissed A Girl", "Thinking of You", "Hot N Cold", "Waking Up In Vegas". At first her song "I Kissed A Girl" sounded strange because a woman is singing about her kissing a girl. Hello, does the word "lesbian" mean anything to her? She says that she's not a lesbian and she's straight, well Excuse me Miss Katy Lesbo Perry. I heard that even her parents tried to disown her because of that song but they said it was too late to do that because they are over the age of 60.
As Katy Perry continues singing, her untalent voice, simply makes everyones ears want to bleed with pain. Have any of you heard of her song "Thinking of You"? Just listen to the lyrics and the rythem of the music put together it sounds like a retarded whale. I think I would rather listen to Metal Uthe music genre) rather than listening to her. Oh wait thats the same thing. Well I think I would end up listening to Rihanna.
Next we have Kings of Leon, they made this song called "Lose Somebody" and these are the lyrics "ohh lose somebody, come on just lose somebody...I've been sitting around and lose somebody, lose somebody......" and he keeps on repeating "lose somebody" for the entire time. It's as if his vocabulary is limited to those two words "lose somebody".
Now lets talk about the gayest band called Empire of the Sun. They are one of the most gayest bands that I have ever heard of and yet the world thinks that they are amazing. Ok, so does it sound right to listen to people  fags who simply can't sing. If you watch their music video, there are 2 guys wearing a bunch of makeup and singing like a retarded sheep that got mad-Sheep (more like mad cow disease except with sheep) syndrome. Don't ask me how that's possible. And let me quote something from Gulf News "Oh these people are one of the most talented bands ever, just next year they are going to be posting children's books and the kids are going to enjoy". Parents, Please DON'T let your children get near those gay people as they might end up turning your child gay and they might end up doing something horrible to them.
Finally since everyone has been affected with the economic crisis, many agencies seem to be hiring "untalented" singers, so now if you turn on the radio you are going to be hearing so many singers that are just not worth listening to. Even many singers nowadays seem to be doing dirty things on TV. Have you heard Shakira's new song "She-Wolf"? In the music video she is dancing around in flesh-colored clothing and it looks like she is naked. She and all the other singers need to get a life!

Dido: Music Update

As promised, here's the second part of our interview with Dido.

Has it been fun working with Rollo on the new album?
Definitely. I love working with Rollo. He's always excited and smiling and inspiring and just great company.

Do you have a vague idea of when we're likely to hear the new stuff?
You'll start hearing things appearing next year, for sure.

Are there any plans for a tour?
This will be a really fun record to tour, so yes.

What have you been listening to?
This morning my walking playlist included William Orbit (Strange Cargo III), House of Cards by Radiohead, Sombre Reptiles by Brian Eno, Something in the Way She Moves by James Taylor, Kool and the Gang's Get Down On It, Jack Penate, The Orb's Little Fluffy Clouds, Lindstrom, La Roux, Harry Nilsson, Regina Spektor, Trentemøller and Deadmau5. All of which put me in a very good mood.

Finally, what's the best film you've seen recently?
I really enjoyed 'In the Loop' and the Story of Anvil (brilliant ending!)

Blog Confusion?

As you can see, there seems to be some confusion about me starting another blog. Well people are starting to think that I am going to be leaving this blog, well that is NOT true.
I will still be updating this blog because this is the Official Blog of mine. Retro2trut is another blog that I will be posting just some short stories and that's it. It will be a monthly update on Retro2trut, and on Retro-trut is going to be updated whenever I have any free time available and I assure you that this week on Tuesday, there will be an update but as of tomorrow, I will not blog at all due to my Midterms taking place on Monday.
Next week I will be updating this blog until Monday and then on Wednesday, I will resume updating this blog. So just relax and don't be confused about my 2 blogs!

Stress, Stress & More Stress:

Well it's that time of year again, when the midterms are right around the corner. Oh man, I hate midterms, they tend to stress you out. Forget that, it's being added to my things that make me stressed out list. The following things are making me stressed out:
  • Midterms
  • Tutorial Quizzes
  • College Assignments (Statistics is a very good example)
  • Exercise, yeah like that will help with my stress level!
  • Final Exams (excuse me while I go vomit, I just don't like studying for that)
  • My Thursday Class Timings for the Fall Semester of 2009, it is extremely hectic and not forgetting that I will be having to quizzes on that day :(
So far, I seem to be getting myself stressed out with all that work. As for the Midterms, I start having them next week. I will be having Statistics & Computer Midterm on Monday & on Tuesday I will be having Maths Midterm, so don't expect to see much updates on my blog.

Since I'm getting myself stressed with all these things my teachers are like "class, please solve this assignment for next week and expect a quiz" and "class, solve the following questions and finish them by today (and the teacher hands everyone about 6 pages of many difficult questions and watches us like a vulture and starts taking down notes on each student)".

Please wish me luck on my midterms next week and on Tuesday I will continue updating my blog :)

The Answer To The Mystery Song:

For those of you who couldn't figure out the answer to this question, don't worry I am now posting the answer.
The answer to the mystery song is by Harry Belafonte and the name of the song is called "Shake Senora". This song was played in the movie "Beetlejuice"!

Music Band Copies The Sims 2 Theme Song:

There is this band called "Boys Like Girls" and they had already released this song called "Love Drunk" and they had plagiarized the Official Theme Song for The Sims 2. Those people are busy playing their music all over the radio. I mainly heard this song on 104.1 Radio 1 and if you listen to the first and the last part of the song "the lala la la lalala lala lala lalalala... and so on", then as a Simmer, you will realize that this part of the song has been taken from The Sims 2 & it's expansion packs. Those exact lyrics are copied and the band members are literally singing after the song but they made the song into a "College Rock" kind of theme.
The song is shown to you below:

Now compare and contrast the songs and feel free to comment on this post!

A CATCH-UP WITH DIDO, PART 1

Dido finally updates her website by adding some great news on her fourth coming album, which is currently being recorded as we speak. The following has been taken from Dido's website :

"...With Dido back in the studio recording her fourth album, we gave her a shout to find out how she's doing.

Hello Dido, how are you?
Very well thank you. This is my favourite time of year. I've just got in from a fantastic walk in the countryside where I'm working. There is truly nothing better than walking in cold sunshine listening to music, so I feel great.

What have you been up to over the last few months?
I've been working on a new record. The last few months has been spent mostly at home just writing and recording away on my own in the kitchen - still the place I get the most done!

How is the new material coming along?
Great. I'm really enjoying what I've been doing. I've been embracing my electronic roots again which is even more enjoyable than ever before after all I've been learning in the last few years. Loving Logic 9 too.

How does the new stuff compare to the Safe Trip Home songs?
You'll have to wait and see! I'll fill you in more as time goes on, but it's a whole new world.

Are you still playing a lot of the instruments?
So far, I'm playing all of them. But hopefully we'll get some professionals in soon! I'm working with Rollo at the moment and he's great at inspiring me to play everything. He doesn't really give me a choice..."

Who Remembers This Song?

Guess which movie this was from, No cheating. The answer will be provided on the 9th of October, 2009!

Retro's Sarcasm Class :

Welcome to Retro's Sarcasm Class 101, here you will be taught on how to be really sarcastic. In about a couple of days you will experience "Sarcasm Mode" also known as "Blair Mode". Here are Lessons 1 through 10:
  • You are not as bad as people say, you are much, much worse.
  • Now we know why some animals eat their own children.
  • Please, keep talking. I always yawn when I am interested.
  • Talk is cheap, but that's ok, so are you.
  • If we killed everybody who hates you, it wouldn't be murder…it would be an apocalypse!
  • This is an excellent time for you to become a missing person.
  • I'm busy now. Can I ignore you some other time?
  • When I look into your eyes, I see straight through to the back of your head.
  • A sharp tongue does not mean you have a keen mind.
  • Anyone who told you to be yourself couldn't have given you any worse advice.
  • Are you always this stupid or are you making a special effort today.
  • Do you want me to accept you as you are, or do you want me to lie to myself and try to like you?
  • Don't let your mind wander, it's far too small to be let out on its own.
  • Don't thank me for insulting you, it was a pleasure.
  • Don't you realize that there are enough people to hate in the world already without you putting in so much effort to give us another?
  • He always finds himself lost in thought; it's unfamiliar territory.
  • I bet you get bullied a lot.
  • I can tell that you are lying, your lips are moving.
  • I don't know what makes you so dumb but it really works.
  • I don't mind you talking so much, as long as you don't mind me not listening.
  • I don't think you are a fool, but what's my opinion compared to that of thousands of others.
  • I know you are nobody's fool, but maybe someone will adopt you one day.
  • I like you. People say I've got no taste, but I like you.
  • I used to think that you were a colossal pain in the neck. Now I have a much lower opinion of you.
  • I will defend, to your death, my right to my opinion.
  • I would have liked to insult you, but the sad truth is that you wouldn't understand me.
  • I'd like to see things from your point of view, but I can't seem to get my head that far up your ass.
  • If you were twice as smart as you are now, you'd be absolutely stupid.
  • I'm glad to see you're not letting your education get in the way of your ignorance.
  • I'm impressed, I've never met such a small mind inside such a big head before.
  • I've come across rotting bodies that are less offensive than you are.
  • Pardon me, but you're obviously mistaking me for someone who gives a damn.
  • People would follow him anywhere, but only out of morbid curiosity.
  • She's the first in her family born without tail.
  • That man is cruelly depriving a village somewhere of an idiot.
  • There are several people in this world that I find unbearably obnoxious, and you are all of them.
  • What he is lacking in intelligence, he more than makes up for in stupidity.
  • Whatever it is that is eating you, it must be suffering horribly.
  • What's wrong, don't you get any attention back home?
  • You are not even beneath my contempt.
  • You are not obnoxious like so many other people, you are obnoxious in a completely different and far worse way.
  • You grow on people, but so does cancer.
  • You have an inferiority complex and it is fully justified.
  • You should do some soul-searching. You might just find one.
  • You would never be able to live down to your reputation, but I see you're doing your best.
  • Your mind isn't so much twisted as badly sprained.
  • You're a habit I'd like to kick - with both feet.
  • Learn from your parents' mistakes, use birth control!
  • Honesty is the best policy but insanity is the best defense.
  • Life is like a roller coaster, and I'm about to throw up.
  • Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.
  • Sex is like air; it's not important unless you aren't getting any.
  • The number one problem in our country is apathy, but who cares!
  • There's too much blood in my caffeine system
  • Time is the best teacher; Unfortunately it kills all its students!
  • Bulls**t: the art of making the idiotic sound sensible.
  • Restraining orders are just another way of saying I love you.
Congratulations, you have successfully graduated from Sarcasm University. Feel free to do your masters at the University of DUH!

Retro's Getaway:

Last week, I had one of the worst weeks of my life. I have had one hectic week, the classes were going on one after the other without a break and then after that I would have my driving lessons, and then the piles of work that the university would give us and then there are all those weekly quizzes. All of that drove me crazy (metaphorically speaking), but with my stress level going higher by the minute, I have finally had a meltdown.

So while I was having my meltdown, one of my friends had invited me to go to this party down in Abu Dhabi, and I would stay the night down in the Abu Dhabi Beach Rotana Hotel, which was a nice hotel to stay in. On Thursday, after I got home from a long day from the university, I just packed my things and literally fell asleep for the entire day. So by Friday afternoon, like at around 3PM, I left Dubai and headed straight to Abu Dhabi. The trip wasn't that long, it only took about an hour and twenty minutes and the trip was worth it. If you want to get some peace & quiet and also to shake the stress away, just get in the car and head to Abu Dhabi. It beats getting stressed out at the university.

Once I had arrived to Abu Dhabi, I went and checked into the hotel and then I went up and changed my clothes because it was the Trinidadian Independence Day Party and they had a specific clothing code, you have to wear a red, white and black clothing, or if you're going to wear your casual clothes, you should tie a red, white & black band or a flag on your clothes/bags.
So I went up and I changed my clothes and then I came down at exactly 6PM and headed to the party.

In conclusion, I ended up having a blast at the party and I hope to go to the next party during the next few years. Happy Trinidadian Independence Day Everyone!!!!
