Dido replies: I love both. It depends how tired I am. I can stare at the ocean for a pretty long time though and love not having to get dressed. But I also love nothing more than walking everywhere round a city for a few days. I'd love to go to India, Chile, Poland, St Petersburg, Alaska.

What would be your most preferred music instrument for song writing?

Dido replies: Probably guitar as it feels so natural to sing and play at the same time.

What other languages do you speak or want to learn?

Dido replies: Very bad French and trying to learn Spanish

Calling Channel 4 FM:

Oh man, did I ever tell you that most of the radio stations are amazing, well except for Virgin Radio 104.4 . They have all these stupid ads about the count down of many songs that tend to be one of the world's most stupidest songs ever. Well let me tell you what happened today.

Today I had decided to call Channel 4FM and request a song just for fun. So here is what happened, I called the radio station and I asked the DJ to play Rihanna's song "Te Amo". The DJ was not DJ Moe, it was some other guy, sadly I don't remember his name. Well anyway here is what happened:

I dialled the phone number (6001644) and I waited for the DJ to pick up the phone so that I could request a song.

DJ: Hello, Channel 4 FM speaking, may I help you?

Me: Hello, hi channel 4 FM, yes I would like to request a song.

DJ: yeah, ok. What song would you like to listen to?

Me: Rihanna - Te Amo, it's Rihanna's new song and it was released on June.

DJ: yeah, ok we'll play that. It's "Te Amo" right?

Me: yeah

DJ: OK thanks for calling Channel 4FM, we'll play your song after a message from our sponsers

Me: Thanks :)

DJ: No problem. Thanks for calling Channel 4 FM and have a great evening!

Me: you too!

After a couple of minutes while the advertisements are going on.

Radio: Du Du Du Du Du Du Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. Du Add Life To Life, then followed by a child splashing in water and it was some ad about Aquaventure and then some more ads go on..... 10 minutes later

The DJ speaks on the radio: OK, now it's a no talk triple play and we have a request by Retrotrut and he requested Rihanna.

To Do List Before You Travel:

There are many things that you're supposed to do before you leave town for your trip. Even if the trip is for 2 or 3 days, you should still do the following things:

• If you have any pets, make sure you can get someone to feed them for you. I just got Mario to feed my cat & my turtles while I'm gone :)
• Also make sure you have enough Pet Food for your pets, you don't want them to starve themselves.
• Turn off lights, TV's, Computers and anything else that is electrical (yes, like the kettle and the stove). Doing this might save you $$$ Hefty electrical bills and chances of your place from catching fire.
• Clean out your fridges before you leave. Make sure you remove anything that is perishable such as fruits (strawberries, berries, bananas, apples), dairy products (milk, yogurt) and other things such as leftover stew from yesterday -eat it quick before you leave town. You can leave frozen foods like bread (as long as you keep it in the freezer) and frozen meat and any other types of frozen food. Also you can leave things like certain types of cheese such as blue cheese (that will never expire) and canned cream cheese. Canned goods is another good idea. Trust me, when you return you don't want to open a disgusting fridge with rotting food in it. Now do you?!
• Avoid getting sick by not eating a lot before you leave. I know about this because last time I remember when I was going to leave town I ate so much that I just started to puke due to food poisoning, so I missed my flight :( but I did however manage to lose a few kilos after I puked :)
• For those of you who get Airsick by travelling, I would highly recommend you take sleeping pills so that you can sleep through out the flight until you have reached your destination.

Time For A Change:

For the next following days expect a couple of changes to be made on my blog. For starters, I have already changed the template of my blog and I made my blog well greener. Just thought that I would spice up my blog for the summer vacation. Oh yeah and in a couple of days I will be posting my last post for the summer. Since I will be leaving town for my summer break for the next 2 -3 weeks and during that time I might not be able to update my blog. So please bear with me for the next couple of weeks.

Once I return from my vacation, all the updates from Dido & The Sims will be cut down to a minimum due to the Holy Month Of Ramadan starting on August 21 or was it 22, well it's somewhere there. So there will be NO music videos posted during this period of time & the YouTube Video Bar will be displaying only the Holy Quran.When Ramadan is over, expect some new songs to be released as well as some Dido updates.

The reason why I'm doing this is because well for the past couple of weeks I've been going on this diet (which I'm not liking but I have these crazy mood swings, I'll explain this shortly) and you know on this diet, I am forced to cut out "Sugar" and Carbohydrates (aka Carbs) for the next couple of weeks, so that I could lose some weight. And I have also *shudders* started to exercise (I am so not that used to it yet but I think I'm starting to get used to it just a bit) at the gym, so that I could get rid of some excess weight that I had gained over the years. Also another reason why I want to lose weight is not to get Diabetes, since almost everyone in Dubai has Diabetes due to obesity. As for me, I'm slightly obese but I started making progress. I lost about 4 or 5KGs of fat in 3 weeks :D

So now since I have started dieting, I'm also going to let my blog go on a diet as well. This means expect less of Dido updates and The Sims updates because I have recently been getting a lot of complaints from many people saying that I am completely obsessed with these 2 things. That's not true, so I'm trying to show everyone that I'm not that obsessed with Dido & The Sims.

Dido replies: Yes I do. I love them and would love to have them if I stop travelling for long enough! I'd have a golden retriever or a Labrador.

Hello Dido. When I listen to your first 2 albums, there are a lot electronic bits in it. I always loved that. But with the Safe Trip Home album, you have left those electronic bits out. Or at least, a lot less than normally. What made you decide to change the style of the 3rd album? Or did it just go that way?
Keep making great music!

Dido replies: I intentionally didn't use any electronics on the 3rd album. It was a challenge that started as a small thought and then turned into a big theme of the record. We had a lot of fun creating sounds from all manner of instruments (bells, wind instruments, strings, brass, pots, pans, cans, sandpaper, anything). This was instead of using anything pre-programmed. It was a great learning experience for me and also made me a much better musician pretty quickly! It's also making me really appreciate the joy of electronics again on this new album I'm making. It's good to take a break and now I'm celebrating my electronic roots again. :-)

Hi Dido, The internet is telling me that your first two albums are pop music, and Safe Trip Home is folk. Do you think they got it right? How do you describe your music?

Dido replies: I leave the descriptions to other people!

The Getaway: Got It Good

As the days went by XTR, Mario & I were busy having the time of our lives, enjoying this amazing trip that I won. Well so many things have happened to us during the passed few days. The guys & I have met these 3 people at the restaurant a couple of days ago and you wouldn't believe who we met. XTR got a chance to meet Ashley Newbrough an actress from TV's Privileged and of course she invited all of us to her big mansion for a dinner party and of course the party that she threw were mainly celebrities, I managed to meet many celebrities such as Mariah Carey, Jennifer Anniston, Angelina Jolie, Holly Marie Combs, Hayden Panettiere and of course the list goes on and on. Mario of course was too busy flirting with some of the celebs but they found him rather creepy (I don't blame them) so eventually they ended up ignoring him for a short time. Later they did start talking to him, it seems that the people from Hollywood are nice people.

So the following day, I met this person down by the pool area at the hotel, I met Anna Faris (the funny character from the movie "The House Bunny" & "Scary Movie 1, 2, 3, 4"). Anna and I of course started talking about stuff (not anything sexual because you see this story is a "G" rated story). Anna also gave me a chance to interview her and ask her about anything I want, so of course I asked her "Out of all the movies you starred in, which would be your favorite movie & why?". She replied "Well I would have to say it's the movie called House Bunny, because the movie talks about friendship and that people still care about things." In the end I would have to admit that Anna Faris is a nice celebrity to have met :)

After all the times we had spent at Palm Beach, I would hate to leave this place but I have to go back home and resume my life. So after Mario, XTR & I checked out of the hotel we headed straight to the airport by the Maybach we got and got on our flight back to Dubai. The flight was a little depressing because we all ended up missing the fun times we had at those parties & swimming at the amazing beaches *sigh*. 48 hours later we all got back to Dubai and the Limo dropped us back to our houses.

Etislut's Outage:

Man, it has been such a bad day for Dubai again. Most of the U.A.E's residents have been affected by Etislut's crazy outages. These outages caused so many problems for everyone. It was difficult for people to make phone calls and go online because the outage caused problems like no signal on phones and no internet connectivity showing. When surfing the internet browser you would receive the following messages:

If you're using Google Chrome "www.insertthenameofthepagehere.com cannot be opened. the site could have moved or tempoarily down".

If you're using Mozzila Firefox or Internet Explorer "Connection Interrupted", "www.mozzilla.com was not found please try again later" and "The site you were trying to view was taking too long for it to respond, please try again later"

Now as for the phones, it was really difficult to make phone calls or even send SMS's or send credit to a certain phone. From what I had experienced, I had NO signal from my house and when I was at the mall. Yes the bills were paid and I didn't have to renew my simcard. I even cleaned the card and it still said "No Network" and sometimes the signal would be extremely weak.

Another group of people that I know, said that yesterday around 11:00AM in the morning, that they couldn't make any calls or receive any calls from anyone and they were pretty upset about it. When people tried calling them the line would be either "busy" or "switched off". Well this just sucks.

Also to make things worse, I haven't been able to blog and post my story which by the way is coming up shortly. Since there was hardly any internet available, I couldn't blog or go online and watch a movie or any type of TV shows *sigh*. And the other thing is that I also heard from one of my sources that ALL the servers down by the Dubai Marina have all crashed leaving everyone without internet access and disconnected mobile services. Due to Etislut's bad services I'm guessing everyone will or would end up switching to Du: adding life to life :P

If You Could Have Any 5 Powers What Would You Have & Why?

If you could have any 5 powers no matter what it is whether it's flying or cell regeneration or whatever you want, what would you like to have and why would you like to have those powers? Would you use those powers for Good or Evil?

Here is what powers I would like to have and the reason is written below:

Powers:

Weather Control: I would be able to summon thunderstorms, hailstones, sandstorms, you name the weather and I would be able to summon it. The reason why I chose this power is because for example if I get pissed I could make a thunderstorm express my hurt feelings or if I was in a good mood I would probably make the hot weather in the UAE nice and cool during the summer :)

Telekinesis: I don't mind having that power because for example whenever I have to watch TV I
don't have to get up and actually have to switch on the TV myself I would have my power do that for 

me or when I have to organize my room , I would have to pick up all those papers and books and 

God knows what I have laying around my room by hand. I would rather have TK powers so then I 

could just move it around for me while I do something else.

Time Control: Who wants to stop time for a bit and for example fix the mistake you are going to do

or just try to stay calm in what's going to happen or whatever happens. I would like to have a power

like that. For example if I had that, I could like stop time for it depends on how long I need for when

I have to study for a quiz or do my homework instead of having to worry about failing something.

Passing that grade would be a success in some cases!

Cellular Regeneration: With powers like this I could do many things. I could probably be the cure for 

many diseases like cancer, H1N1 and so on. Also that means other than saving people I could also

go for these extreme sports like bungee jumping, going on upside roller coasters many times with

out holding on to those bars so tightly which I do.

Control Electrical Items: Such as controling computers (so that I wouldn't have these stupid 

computer issues), also so that I could get a chance to have fun with the power so that I could make 

my life better with new improvements of things like my tv will be able to have every single program

in the world. But also I would be able to stop power cuts happening in town if I had that power :P

In conclusion I would be using these powers for good and not for personal gain :P

Is History Repeating Itself?

I ask this question about whether or not if history is repeating itself. I feel that history is starting to repeat itself. I always knew I would always be here in this position. First of all to make this post not repetitive, I will just say that of course some of these things that I'm talking about has NOTHING to do with my pc (maybe just a couple of internet issues but thats it). I hope all of you understand.

I'm making it crystal clear that I have a feeling that history is starting to repeat itself. It all starts with the world, ok so before in the last couple of centuries ago we had a diesease spread around the world called "Polio", and I don't know how many centuries later they eventually found a cure for the disease. Now if you read the news or even watch TV, they are saying "Swine Flu is spreading, there is about a 100000 cases in the U.K". Hello? so what else is new? I know that in Austrailia they found over 100000 cases of the disease a long time ago and frankly this doesn't really scare me a lot, but I know it's starting to freak everyone else out (yes XTR, even you) but it doesn't matter.

Now the next issue that seems to be repeating itself is inflation. Yes, this is true inflation has happened over a million times. For example now if you go to the supermarket to buy a kilo of tomatoes at Spinney's it would probably cost you around 40dhs or 50 dhs and if you go to the Union Co-Op it would be around 40dhs maybe even more. Now if I remember in the past back in the days before computers were even invented, back during the days of the World War (both 1 & 2) people used to increase the prices of everything. For example when the Soviet Union (also known as Russia in today's world) was at war, I read somewhere (probably in one of my old History books) that someone (I'm guessing it was either Hitlet or Joseph Stalin) had built a wall. Not just any wall but the Berlin Wall and if I remember things clearly he stopped people from entering and leaving West Berlin. Now since those people were trapped inside West Berlin, of course they would run out of so many supplies and many people would have died of many things like starvation or some kind of illness. So since that happened of course the prices from around the world such as the U.S would have increased the prices. Well whenever there was a war of course ALL the prices from where ever  you're staying would increase the prices of EVERYTHING. So not to worry History is definitly repeating itself again :/ *sigh*

Well let's see maybe it will change sooner or later, no one knows (except God of course)!

What Is Going On With My Life?

Well not much is going on in my life other than a couple of things. First I'm having some internet issues and then today my gay desktop computer decided to crash and not to respond (reason unknown) now I just have to wait for the computer guy to come and repair the problems in the house. Then there is the fact that I am forced to exercise (*sigh* I am NOT a fan of exercising but I'm doing it anyway), also there is this book that I've been reading called "The Life Of Pi". Which is an interesting book. Also I just applied for my license and I'm looking forward to getting it. It will begin in 43 days and counting. I will be updating the story soon. This time I will be writing the concluding end of the story. I am now going to be ending the story for good, I might even start a new one after The Holy Month of Ramadan!
