Announcement:

Dear Guests,
I will not be blogging for the next couple of days due to some technical difficulties. Also there is another reason why I won't be blogging, there was a fire in my neighborhood and the smoke covered the entire neighborhood leaving everyone's houses to be filled up with that horrible smell of burning charcoal. So I won't be able to go online until the situation is fixed and the last thing is that I have been having so many internet issues that now the internet keeps failing almost all the time. The other thing I would also like to talk to you about is that I will be writing a conclusion to the story "The Getaway" and I will be ending it once and for all so then I can release a new story as soon as the Holy Month Of Ramadan ends. Please note that Ramadan will begin on August 2009. No dates have been given yet. I'm still thinking if I should write another story, well I'll keep you posted once the internet starts working normally again!

Dido replies: My worst journey was a flight to Thailand where I got the most horrendous food poisoning 4 hours into the journey. They were looking for a doctor on the plane but there wasn't one. There was only a nun! She was absolutely lovely though and she'd been a nurse before she became a nun. She basically just held my hand and looked after me till we got to Bangkok

Tribute To Michael Jackson:

Michael Jackson: The King Of Pop, We'll all miss you MJ!

Today we all mourn the passing of Michael Jackson. Today is a sad day for the world. The reason why we are all sad is because we are all hypocrites. While he was with us, we laughed at him, we laughed at his appearance, we laughed at his behavior, we laughed at his children.

He did so much for us. He entertained us. He changed his precious self to be more acceptable to us. If he had known the outcome, he would not have done that. He must have suffered so much just knowing that his appearance could not ever be rectified. Instead of sympathizing with him, we laughed and ridiculed. That must have been so painful. Painful for his family. He covered the faces of his children so that they never have to suffer the same consequence.

The talented man is now gone and it is too late to apologize for being merciless. On Judgment Day, he will take from the good deeds of all the people who talked badly about him. Rest in peace.

The Irony Of Fame:

To be treated by the irony of fame; to stop his breath at a time when it should not stop; and how much the public liked him; and how many times he appeared to show himself; and how much the people appreciated him; then all of a sudden the news that he is breathing no more; that he should not be expected on stage anymore.

Imagine how he felt; imagine what was the end of his career; imagine the expectations of his fans, his friends, his family, his audience; they did not expect that they would have to feel his absence.

The irony of fate which is just the opposite of the irony of his fame. May God bless his soul, may God give tranquility to his spectators who are watching the screen and wishing for this person to be on the screen and with that; God bless that soul.

Oh no, oh no. Aye, irony of fate, was that your expectation? The destruction of all his hopes? To terminate even the hopes of his audience? To terminate his life? May God bless his soul. We didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to the beauty on the stage. What hopes he had are now all gone. Fare thee well and God’s speed, Michael. From Him we come and unto Him we shall all return.

The Getaway: Destination Palm Beach

The very next day once we had arrived to Palm Beach and as soon as we got out the plane, we went to get out suitcases at the baggage claim and then we headed out towards the exit. As soon as we got out there was a driver holding a sign that had my name (which was RETRO) & XTR & Mario. So we headed up to him and we said that those are our names and he replied "great, let me just take your bags and put them into the Maybach and then we'll head to the hotel". So we headed to the car and of course we were on our way to the new 5 star Hilton Hotel at Palm Beach. After we arrived, the car suddenly got swarmed with the Paparazzi and there were so many people taking pictures of us. It was as if we were celebrities, lol. A few seconds later the hotel security came to back away the crazy paparazzi that kept taking pictures of us and they apologized to us and then they took us straight into the hotel and they had explained the situation to us saying that we were celebrities and that we are really famous people.
Later after the security explained the situation to us, Mario & XTR & I had decided to head to the concierge so that we could check- in to the hotel and head to our room. Meanwhile as we were checking in, Mario was busy checking out the girls. That boy is crazy, he needs to learn to control himself. First he was checking out the sexy flight attendants then it was the sexy chicks outside the airport and then it was...............this and that. Oh God, too much information revealed. Back to the story!
So as soon as we had checked in, we then headed up to our rooms. We were staying on the top floor in the new penthouse suite room. It was nice and classy of course :)
The penthouse suite had a large living room with a dark brown wooden flooring, and the walls were beige color. Now for the furniture there were 2 three seater cream colored sofas with red cushions, followed by a golden coffee table with a tinted glass top. Then there was a stereo system behind the sofas and an aquarium. Of course there was a large flat screen TV with surround sound and it had 4500 channels and it also came with a DVD player.
Now for the kitchen, the kitchen was small but it wasn't too small it was quite comfortable. The floor tiling was white marble and the wall was made up of red marble. How classy is that?
The answer to that question is really classy ^__^
Now the kitchen had 7 yellow counters with a white top, then there was a fully stocked golden fridge followed by a white colored stove with golden knobs and of course, who could forget the island counters that match the kitchen counters of course. Then there was the mahogany colored bar stools with cushions for the island counters.
The bedrooms on the other hand looked amazing. There were 3 bedrooms, one for each of us. Each room had a king sized bed and a Sony Bravia Plasma Screen TV followed by a walk - in closet. The first room had a darkish brown carpet as the floor and the wall were light blue, more like Calm Blue. The room also had automatic curtains that would open and close when the sun would rise or set. The bed had a white blanket that felt like cotton candy and the mattress was so comfortable. It's like sleeping on cloud 9. The other rooms were basically the same thing except for the fact that the second room was green and the third room was red.
Each room had it's own bathroom which was great and it had it's own balcony and of course the balcony had a view of the city and it's beaches :)
The bathrooms had dark green marble floor and a mixture of white & dark green marble as the walls. In each bathroom, everyone had their own hot tub, bathtub, shower, toilet & sink. But all these things had golden handles.
Later as soon as we put our things into the rooms, we had decided to head down to the restaurant so that we could have our lunch, we were so hungry that day. So after we had arrived to the restaurant, we saw many famous people eating there such as Mariah Carey with her new husband, Paris Hilton (the attention whore), Fergie..... and the list goes on and then we saw............................... to be continued

Next time on The Getaway, expect to see who we saw at the restaurant. Three new characters are going to be revealed and then we go on an amazing adventure. All that will be shown next week!

Healing:

Well as you all know, that I recently had an operation on my toe. So expect many delayed posts including the story. So far I managed to complete half of it today. Do you like to bike?

Dido replies: Yes I love it. Until I fall off. On tour I would take a bike with me on the bus and then go for a cycle when we landed in a city. It was a great way to see things in the short amount of time I'd have to do so!

In your videos, you have such a sense of style. Do you have a stylist, and if not where do you get your fashion inspiration?
Dido replies: I do have a stylist and she's great. She's called Andrea Lieberman and she makes clothes a lot of fun. I'm not big on shopping so this helps a lot!
Are you starting your world tour this summer?

Dido replies: I'm not going to tour until next year now actually. I'm having so much fun being in the studio and making another record that I don't want to stop for the minute. I'm sure I will be touring again when the next record is finished.

Healing Foot in Progress

Story Update:

As you can all see, I had started writing a story called "The Getaway" and I have posted it into 2 parts so far, I will be posting some more parts through out the summer vacation. This story that I wrote will be continued on the 15th of June 2009. Part 3 will be revealed, on the 13th of June and you will get to see what happens in the story.

Here is a sneak preview of the story:

Retrotrut's Vanilla & Coconut Cake Followed By Coconut Cream Surprise Recipe:

2 drops of oil
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 large eggs
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 - 2 cups of Al Marai Low Fat Milk
5 handful of freshly shredded coconuts (which can be bought from Lulu Hypermarket)

first crack 3 large eggs, then add flour and sugar into the bowl and mix it with a large spoon. Then add some vanilla and continue mixing it then carefully add 2 drops of oil. Don't add more than 2 drops of oil or else it might get too crunchy and the cake will tend to catch fire more often and it will make you really fat. After that add the baking powder into the bowl followed by 5 handfuls of shredded coconut. Pour milk into the bowl after you added that and keep pouring milk until the cake batter has been doughy like. It shouldn't be too watery or too dry.
After you finished mixing it with the spoon, you should then continue mixing it with an automatic mixer until the lumps have gone away.
When you finish mixing, you should then put the cake mix into a cake pan (choose any type you want whether it's round or square or even choose the bunt kind if you want). You should put it in the oven and the temperature should be 350 degrees. Not more than that or else it will catch fire.
Let the cake bake for at least 20 to 45 minutes (depending on how big the cake would be)
Then once it's done you may serve it warm!

Coconut Cream Surprise:
Ingredients:
2 packs of Dream Whip instant Vanilla Whipping Cream Powder
half a liter of cooking cream
4 handfuls of shredded coconut
chocolate powder
chocolate sprinkles
raspberry

First take the 2 packs of Dream Whip powder mix and put it into the bowl (note this is separate, it's not included with the cake), then add the half a liter of cooking cream and then you just mix it with an automatic mixer. Then as the cream is mixing add the coconut in to the cream mix and let it mix until the cream starts to whip. As soon as the cream starts to whip, then you put the cream into the fridge for 3 hours (keep it uncovered). 3 hours later once it's done, you then slice some cake (previous recipe) and on the side you add some of the coconut cream and then you sprinkle some chocolate powder on top of the cream and then you add the sprinkles on it and to top it off 1 raspberry on top. Dubai: The Land Of Food Poisoning

Feeling Sick? Do you feel Nauseated? Well It's the outside food that you've been eating.

It's true, Dubai is one of the world's most sickening places to eat at. Just look at the following restaurants and cafeterias that have been affected:

• Antar Cafeteria
• Al Ijaza Cafeteria
• Eat & Drink Cafeteria
• Ruby Tuesdays
• Duck King
• Manga Cafe
• Chili's
• Burger King
• Sea Shell Cafeteria
• Mc Donalds
• Pizza Hut
• Frooj Cafeteria

and many more. Gulf News has even posted some stories and most of them are true. A little girl about the age of 4 had died of severe food poisoning. Now also there is 1 supermarket that has been affected badly. So I would highly recommend NOT buying from them and that supermarket is called CHOITRAMS. They are selling Expired food and the ministry is not doing anything about it. That sucks!

What Is Going On With Retro?

Good question, what have I been up to. Well Lately I've been really busy doing a couple of things. Last Thursday I went and bought The Sims 3 and I started playing it for the past couple of days, then I also started dieting :( I miss having chocolates but for some odd reason I'm not interested in them that much nowadays. I blame these crazy mood swings that I've been having. I also started hanging out with my cousins more often. Just 2 or 3 days ago I was at a party and I thought it was ok. It was my cousins birthday and she had turned 22 years old :D Happy Late Birthday cousin!
Other than that, not much has been happening. In case any of you have noticed XTR is doing his finals as we speak. So lets wish him luck. Good Luck. Till then I leave you with this video montage of Dido.

Today is The Day:

Today is the day I get The Sims 3, so you know what that means right? Yes, this means I will be playing The Sims 3 most of the time but don't worry I will be adding some information about it soon. For those of you who don't care about The Sims 3 (or any of The Sims whether it's 1 or 2, namely XTR), just read the story that I wrote and comment about it if you want. The comments are enabled for Authors ONLY.
So also expect some updates starting this Saturday as I will be posting some more posts soon!

The Getaway: The Departure

Time is starting to run out, and the clock is ticking. I have to decide which 2 guests will travel with me on a fantastic luxurious getaway to Palm Beach and I have decided to take my 2 best friends XTR & Mario. Everyone is excited to go on this trip to Palm Beach, so now we are going to be leaving the tomorrow morning for our trip to Palm Beach. Our flight is at 10AM in the afternoon, of course everyone is all packed and ready to leave for the trip. XTR, Mario & I had decided that since we're leaving tomorrow morning for our trip, we should all stay the night at my house. Mario suggested that we should sleep earlier tonight so then we could wake up early and get ready to leave for our flight. In the end, we end up sleeping at 12:00AM midnight but at least we had remembered to set our alarms to 7AM in the morning :) .
The very next day we all woke up, had our breakfast (which was just omelets made by me Retrotrut), then we all went and got ready until the phone rang. So XTR went and answered the phone and then he came running back to the room and he was really happy to tell us something. He told us that in that trip I won, they sent us a limousine to pick us up and take us to the airport. That was such a surprise, then XTR started telling us some more things. He said that the limousine was just the trip from my house to the airport but once we reach to Palm Beach, we get to ride a Maybach all the way to the new 5 star Hilton Hotel and once that's over, when we want to go into town, we get to go in a Rolls Royce Phantom but of course once that's over we'll go back to the airport by a Maybach and then once we land back to Dubai, the limo will take us back home. Then Mario and I asked XTR, "when is the limo coming?" and XTR said oh he'll be here in 10 minutes. Of course all of us had to rush quickly and then get downstairs and leave for the airport and we did. Right after we were done, the doorbell rang and someone was at the door.
It was the limo driver, and the limo driver asked us "May I take your luggage and put it in the car?" then he asked us how many suitcases we had and we replied "Just 3 suitcases". So the limo driver took our suitcases and put it in the limo. As soon as we all stepped out of the house, Mario, XTR & my jaws fell to the ground. We got a chance to ride in a Hummer Limousine to the airport. So we were all ecstatic about getting to ride a Hummer Limo to the airport. By the time we left, our families were outside waving goodbye to us ^__^ .
On the way to the airport, everyone was excited about leaving town and going on an adventure and of course Mario was really happy to find a big huge bottle of Diet Pepsi in the limo but to tell you the truth he wasn't that excited about it. He said that he wished that there was Red Bull and of course XTR & I were trying to explain to him that drinking those kinds of drinks is bad f or the human body and XTR told Mario that he should be happy because we were the luckiest people alive to get to go on a fantastic vacation to Palm Beach, and XTR quoted "Who knows, we might even meet some celebrities over there." and that was quoted from Roswell. Mario was like "yeah, you're probably right".
Later as soon as we arrived to Dubai Airport, we went to check - in out luggage down by the Check-in counter and the lady at the counter even gave us our First Class Lounge tickets. How cool was that? The answer is really cool!
After that since we had arrived 2 hours earlier, we all headed straight to the First Class Lounge and once we opened entered , we were amazed at how the lounge looked. The lounge had a buffet table that was served with first class type of food (example: Beluga Caviar, French toast, Salmon, etc...), a sauna, a gym (with your own trainer), a TV room with HD TV and satellite channels and to top things off. They had a 3 story fountain and it was not any fountain, it was a fountain made of diamonds. This lounge was so big, that they also had a map saying "You Are Here). Also I forgot to mention that they also had a Computer Center that had free Alienware PCs to use to go on the Internet. So all of us went and had ourselves a lot of fun here, even though this was not a hotel.
Finally it was time to leave the lounge and the flight for Dubai to Palm Beach was getting ready to board and of course the 3 of us ran towards the gate so that we wouldn't miss out flight for our adventure. As soon as we arrived to the gate, we were the first people to get on the plane. Then everyone else boards on to the plane. The flight was around 13 hours because we were travelling from one end of the world all the way to the next part but in the end we did manage to get some rest during the flight, well except for Mario, who was too busy watching Movies on the TV and XTR was so busy listening to some music. It seemed that I was the only one that managed to fall asleep.
The very next day once we had arrived to Palm Beach.......................To Be Continued.
