Today, as I was driving back home from the university, I was listening to Virgin Radio Dubai (104.4) and I was listening to one of their latest songs or as what Virgin Radio calls it "Fresh Hits 104.4" and at first when I heard it, I was quite surprised to hear a song that had a 70's beat to it (Disco like, think of the Beatles, our parents used to listen to them back in their times).
I was also trying to figure out the name of the song until about a couple of minutes ago. At first I had decided to Google up the lyrics that I heard on the radio and it goes like this "...You Better Run Baby Run...". I spent about a couple of minutes trying to figure out the name of the song and also so that I could understand what the lyrics were, I only heard the last minute of that song and I was curious to find out the name of the song.
So after a couple of minutes I found out the name of the song along with the name of the Artist/Band. The name of the song is "Pumped Up Kicks" and it's by "Foster The People" and this song is all about killing and death. What is wrong with Virgin Radio Dubai playing songs like that? I find that Dubai should at least ban this song on the radio and TV, at least then you know there are a lot of people listening to the radio, especially young children.
Are they trying to get the children to start using guns and probably go shoot someone? Well excuse me, I think they should have the decency to just block this away from all the young viewers and crazy people out there. Who knows this song might even give someone an idea to go nuts and take a gun and go on a shooting spree like that incident in America a long time ago.
WARNING! DISTURBING LYRICS ARE BEING DISPLAYED BELOW HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ABOUT THIS. IT'S 18 & ABOVE. YOUNG VIEWERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SEE THIS!!!!!
Here are the lyrics of the song:
Robert's got a quick hand.
He'll look around the room, he won't tell you his plan.
He's got a rolled cigarette, hanging out his mouth he's a cowboy kid.
Yeah he found a six shooter gun.
In his dads closet hidden in a box of fun things, and I don't even know what.
But he's coming for you, yeah he's coming for you.
[Chorus x2:]
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, outrun my gun.
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, faster than my bullet.
Daddy works a long day.
He be coming home late, yeah he's coming home late.
And he's bringing me a surprise.
'Cause dinner's in the kitchen and it's packed in ice.
I've waited for a long time.
Yeah the slight of my hand is now a quick pull trigger,
I reason with my cigarette,
And say your hair's on fire, you must have lost your wits, yeah.
[Chorus x2:]
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, outrun my gun.
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, faster than my bullet.
[Whistling]
[Chorus x3:]
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, outrun my gun.
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, faster than my bullet.
Well who am I to judge what type of filth the radio stations want to display. I don't really care anymore. Let them get the sins and burn in Hell along with Etislut!
