Upcoming Recipes:

During the next couple of weeks until the 24th of June, I will be uploading some brand new recipes online. Some of them include:

  • Retro's Home Made Chips' Dip
  • Retro's Triple Chocolate Cake
  • Retro's Raspberry Cake
  • Retro's Corn Soup
and many more recipes coming this June. Actually I recently removed some pictures off my Facebook Page and those pictures contain my famous cakes and of course many people were taking them for granted or didn't care. Only some people care about my cooking, but not many people give a #### about it. So I simple went and removed them on Facebook. For those who actually care about my cooking can finally read about it right on my blog. And for those of you who don't care about my cooking, I don't really care about you. So as of now in order to increase the publicity of my blog I will be posting some new recipes this coming weekend.
This weekend I will be talking about how to make Retro's Greek Salad, followed by Retro's Famous BBQ Chicken (it comes in 3 different flavors - Garlic  & Black Pepper, Honey Glazed Chicken, Herb Infused Chicken) and as for dessert, Retro's Summer Coconut Cake. To Drink a nice jug of Water Melon Juice is required (Just take some watermelon and cut it up and put it in the blender -make sure it's seedless and then serve with Ice).

I hope everyone is looking forward to these new recipes :)

Surprised?

All of these types of food have been taken from The Sims 2 itself. I know it looks so good but guess what, it's not. Sorry to disappoint you but not to worry, I'm sure just looking at it will satisfy your hunger :P or just go to the shop and by it or else make it from scratch

What is going on with the Supermarkets?

Seriously, What is going on with all the supermarkets. I am seeing so many people there in the Union Co-Op and God they're not Arabic people they're all these crazy tourists. Russians, British, Americans, South Africans, need I go on? About a few days before Ramadan even begun the Union Co-Op was not even crowded but now since we (Arabs) want to go and shop for things. We can't. It is way too crowded. The lines at the counter are endless (not forgetting the traffic in Dubai, Don't get me started). The Co-Op is out of almost everything from A-Z. Cheese Samosas to Vimpto to Honey to everything else. Even Homous & Mutable. It is unbearable. Just like the heat and the long traffic jams. And I was like " Ugh, How do you put up with that?" well Don't ask me how did I put up with that.

HALAL Recipes

I love cooking. Seriously I love to cook. No matter what I am always cooking ( I feel like a chef :P)
anyways I am going to be sharing a few of my favorite recipes:

Lasagna

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound sweet Italian sausage
  • 3/4 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
  • 2 (6.5 ounce) cans canned tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 16 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a Dutch oven, cook sausage, ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until well browned. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water. Season with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons parsley. Simmer, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain noodles, and rinse with cold water. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, remaining parsley, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  4. To assemble, spread 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange 6 noodles lengthwise over meat sauce. Spread with one half of the ricotta cheese mixture. Top with a third of mozzarella cheese slices. Spoon 1 1/2 cups meat sauce over mozzarella, and sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil: to prevent sticking, either spray foil with cooking spray, or make sure the foil does not touch the cheese.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil, and bake an additional 25 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.

Tiramisu

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 pound cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups strong brewed coffee, room temperature
  • 30 ladyfinger cookies
  • 8 ounces finely chopped bittersweet chocolate

DIRECTIONS

  1. In large mixing bowl, beat egg yolks and sugar with electric mixer until light yellow, 1 minute. Beat in cheddar and vanilla until smooth. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Fold egg whites into cheddar mixture.
  2. Quickly dip ladyfingers, one at a time, in cooled coffee and arrange them in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Use 15 cookies to cover the bottom of the dish. Spread half the cheddar mixture over the cookie crust and sprinkle the chocolate on top. Repeat the soaked cookie and cheese layers.
  3. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight before serving.
TRUTH BE TOLD ITS NOT CHEDDAR CHEESE ITS SOME OTHER TYPE OF CHEESE USED IN TIRAMISU

Note: All of these recipes were taken from allrecipes.com since I can't remember how to make them that well and all of these recipes are safe for Muslims to eat :)
