Retrotrut Begins Driving:

Yes, it's true. I have finally started learning on how to drive a car. I have recently applied to the Dubai Driving Center so that I would learn how to drive a car and to tell you the truth, it's amazing on learning to drive a car. If only I had applied for my license earlier but I couldn't due to my parents (it's a parental issue - that's for me to know and you to find out) and also because of my university life. I basically had no time to go driving because of my class timings (8AM -9PM) back when I was in CUD.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I have officially left CUD and moved to UOWD for many reasons including the driving issues. An explanation will be given soon. Well in other news, I will be really busy for the next couple of weeks. So expect a few delays over the next couple of weeks due to my new University life & my driving lessons. I will be adding some more things about my driving classes. It's going to be a new Short story, right after I post my homemade Vanilla cake recipe. Which is coming in Fall 2009!

Push The Door I'm Home At Last...

It's now Monday the 13th of April 2009 and I am extremely tired because of my long day in the university. I have been there for such a long time. I was there since 7:45AM And I Came home at 7:45PM. Wow, I was there for exactly 12 hours. It's better if I just move into the university and claim one of the class rooms :P just kidding.
No but I'm glad to be home, I just pushed the door and I am home now and all I see is you... lol I'm singing Dido's song Thank You :P
But now it's time to relax and forget about the calculus quiz that I did, and that is a long story and I'm not in the mood to discuss about it.

Are You Busy?

Yes I have never been so busy in my life until now. I swear to God, these are one of the busiest days of my life. Well let's see, I had a math midterm yesterday and I think it went well. This Calculus Midterm is supposed to be a midterm that has things like "solve the following equation" or "find the limit of 5X-5/X when the Lim of X is 5" well guess what. That was mostly a lie. The calculus quiz that I had was more like a definition exam rather than a solving exam. At least 70% of the paper was just answer the questions, 10% of the paper was write your name and 20% of the paper was solve a few questions that makes about 100% of the paper. So expect to get a 100% as your grade. Wrong, we're talking about calculus here. Expect at least a grade of D or even less. There is a 0.0001% chance in getting a B grade in this subject. But it is pretty funny sometimes but it's a burden on people's heads.

Now getting back to how my life has been so busy. Man there is not enough time in the week to finish everything and there is NO time to even breathe this week all thanks to these F***ing midterms. This is a burden on my head. With all these crazy assignments that we're getting from the professors and these stupid midterms taking up a lot of our time. There is NO time to do anything. Unfortunately I have to stay awake till God knows what time until I finish doing my design project (which is due tomorrow) and I have to finish the remaining part of my freaking biology and get this, I'm having a big huge headache all at once. I just can't concentrate anymore. I've been studying since 4PM till 7:30PM then I took a break and then I continued from 8:30PM until now. Imagine this my brothers are having more fun than me. One of them is having midterms but he's lucky he only has the easy exams left and my big brother has nothing to do but chill until the end of time. My mom was busy talking on the phone with some of her friends. Why does everybody get to have fun except C.U.D. students. I heard that even students at A.U.D are on vacation at the moment. They are enjoying their Spring Vacation while the rest of us are just killing ourselves with these bloody exams. 

I believe the Minsitry has nothing to do other than just torture us. They don't think we're human beings. So I think they must believe that all the students are robots because we have nothing better to do other than studying. The main reason why I think that they are like that is because they have nothing better to do and they must also believe that we (students) have no feelings.

So I guess they are enjoying the wonderful weather we are having in Dubai while the rest of the us are being treated as robots :(

I wish that there was a long set of holidays and the ministry would say "Enjoy your 1 week vacation and go ahead and enjoy this wonderful weather that we're having at the moment. Try and enjoy it before it gets too hot until you can't breathe!".

Also Expect a major update as of this Thursday because I will be posting some new posts as well as a different template. Well there is going to be some changes around here. There will be an announcement made tomorrow night about the blog update. I will be closing the blog for a few hours. When I say closing the blog I mean I'll be giving only a few people access to it the rest of you won't be able to view it until the blog has been modified.

Time Goes By So Slowly:

Boredom Stikes Us All

Today I feel as if time is going slower by the minute. The reason why I feel this way is because I am so bored at the moment. I know that I shouldn't complain about that but unfortunately I have classes from 9AM - 7:30PM every Mondays and Wednesdays. So today I managed to finish my design class earlier (about 11:45AM instead of 12PM) and I've been on a break since then. My break wouldn't end until 2:45PM then as soon as that's over I have class until 4PM. Then finally my last class is at 6:15PM till 7:30PM and after that I can go home and relax.

I can't wait to go home and then just plop down on my bed and watch TV or maybe, possibly play on the computer. Hmm I wonder which game shall I play tonight? Saints Row 2? The Sims 2 (hacked edition by yours truely)? Spore (about time I played that game)? Or shall I just watch something online such as Kyle XY and continue watching Season 2 of it?

This will all be done as soon as I do some work but procrastination has taken over our lives :P

The truth behind Virgin Megastore in U.A.E.:

Here is the truth about Virgin Megastore in the U.A.E and trust me it's not that great.Virgin Megastore is one of Dubai's most ripped off stores ever. From what I've seen and also from what I've heard is that Virgin Megastore is ripping people off and it's not fair that they do this to us. For example you want to go and buy a music CD (name any singer of your choice) and the price range for it is between 60DHS and 300DHS and this is only in the U.A.E. 

So try going out of Dubai, example London and buy the same exact music CD it costs (converting from the British Pound to Dirhams) and it's price range is between 40DHS to 70DHS. 

Compare and contrast people!

Also since Dubai's law that states "...blah blah blah anything such as porn, violent, drug related or whatever is banned in the U.A.E." I understand that Dubai is trying to protect us from bad things like pornographic materials, hey that is completely understandable but that doesn't mean you have to go over the limit and say "oh yeah you're looking for singles (CDs), well I'm sorry to tell you that those are banned in the U.A.E.". It's singles as in single albums not dru

gs. Can't you understand that? Well I believe that Etislut has something to do with this.

Also try and see how slow Virgin Megastore gets their items (such as video games, movies or even music". It takes them a freaking long time to receive them. By the time they release them, nobody's interested in buying them because everyone would have already ordered it from ebay or Amazon.

I also went to Virgin about a few months ago and I asked one of their employees about if they have Dido's album "Safe Trip Home" but the deluxe edition. Here's what happened:

I went to the mall one day with one of my friends and my friend and I were you know looking around Virgin Megastore to see if they got anything new. So my friend went looking at the new games that they had received and I was like fine while he's doing that let me ask one of the employees if they have Dido's latest album. So I went and asked one of them.

Me: "umm, excuse me"

Virgin Employee: " Yes, sir, how can I help ypu?"

Me: " Yes, I'm searching for Dido's new album STH (Safe Trip Home) but I'm searching for the delux edition."

Virgin Emplyee: "OK sir, let me check our system"

So I follow the employee to the computer and she starts checking to see if the product is available.

Virgin Employee:  " it will be coming soon"

Me: "ok, do you have any idea when it will be out?"

Virgin Emplyee: "no sire, not really. Why don't you come back in 2 weeks?"

Me: "OK, thanks for your help"

So I left Virgin Megastore and I went out and chilled with my friend. Then 2 weeks later I went back to Virgin Megastore and I looked for that album and didn't find it, so I asked another employee for help 

Me: "Hello, do you  have any idea when STH will be released?"

Virgin Employee: "hmm, STH by Dido right?"

Me: "yes"

Virgin Employee: "Well we have the economy edition"

Me: "no I know you have that but I'm searching for the Deluxe edtion"

Virgin Employee: "Let me check the system"

So I follow him and I wait for the answer. a few minutes later he gives me an answer.

Virgin Employee: "no sir, we never heard about that"

Me: "excuse me, it was advertised around the entire world, now don't tell me that you've never heard of it?"

Virgin Employee: " No sir, I've heard of it"

Me: "wow, and they say that Virgin Megastore is the best place to get things, I knew I should have ordered it online."

Virgin Employee: "sir, that album is banned in the Emirates"

Me: "no, seriously?"

the employee looked at me in a serious way.

Me: "do you have any idea why it was banned?"

Virgin Employee: " no sir,unfortunately it says in our system that it's banned so we cannot get it for you."

So that was it, I got pissed and then....

Me: "man, what's this nonsense saying that her album is banned and you're allowing all the other LAME albums like Christina Angulaira performing in a skimpy outfit?"

Virgin Employee "sir but it says that it's banned"

Me: "well if it's gonna be banned I might as well shop somewhere else instead of here. For example I can get my games from Computer Plaza and my movies from spinneys or even download them, I don't need to come back and shop here again since for every single thing I ask you say it's banned when it's not supposed to be banned. I think from now on I'll go out of town just to get what I want instead of getting ripped off here!"

So I left the store and I managed to get Dido's Album from London for 45DHS along with the single for a total of 55 DHS. Not bad right :)

But as for Virgin Megastore they lie to you and they cheat you. I think Virgin's Motto is

"Come and get ripped off from us first before you go anywhere".

Screw you virgin, I'm happy with what I have now. 

Also to tell you the truth, ONLY today was an exception that I went and bought something from them. I bought 2 things a birthday present for my big bro and Saint's Row 2 for me :)

OF course I got ripped off because all the other places were too far away and I had no means of transportation except my mom took me to the Mercato and thats where I got it from! 

Broken AC:

This is how I feel. Notice how hot it is!

Oh God, I am so hot. During the past couple of days I swear to God that my AC was broken because the "compressor" blew up (eh?). You might ask how did that happen, well it was because of the sandstorm we had in Dubai a long time ago. There was sand everywhere in the compressor and then one day it went "POOF". Say hello to hot air and start melting. 

So the repair man came to replace the blown up compressor and guess what it was working for a whole 3 days until "POOF" again. Now it's a billion degrees in my bedroom. How inconvinient, I can't even sleep since it's too hot in here.

What shall I do to keep cool since it's 1AM right now? I feel like fire and I'm trying to keep cool by drinking some water (but not too much of it). 

My First Photography Trip To Al Ain:

Today I went on my First photography trip to Al Ain. I went with my university from 10AM on Friday Morning and I came home at 9:30PM. Yeah I know the trip was really long but it was a lot of fun. So the thing is that there were many students going on the trip and there wasn't enough space on one bus, so we went in 2 different buses . It took 2 hours to go and 2 hours to come back (only if there is no traffic, if there was then expect more time).

We went to the mountains, where we had our lunch of course. Then we went to Mubazzarah, which is a park like place. They have Al Ain's Hot Springs there and a nice mountain to go hiking (which was a lot of fun) and I would highly recommend going there if you're there.

I managed to take a lot of pictures over there and I will be publishing them on FaceBook which will be done tomorrow night and it will be published on my blog during the next few days. Expect delays on my blog for the next few days.

Retro's MELTDOWN:

Yes I've finally had a nervous meltdown thanks to my not so amazing life. After having a rough day sturggling with my "Calculus 1". I think I've had it up to here with Calculus 1. It's driving me nuts. The teacher literally flunked 89% of the class. NOBODY is happy and everyone is in a  crappy mood including me.

Well this is why this week is considered as "STRESSED OUT" week. I hope you all understand that I won't be blogging much nowadays since my university is also giving me a tough time with all the work they keep piling up on me. I just can't stand it. Now I basically have NO SOCIAL LIFE. The only thing I'm supposed to do is study as if there is no tomorrow. Just study. If I hear that word one more time I am going to lose it and you wouldn't want that to happen, now would you?

Dubai Life:

Well the life in Dubai is kind of quiet during the past few days. With the foreigners leaving town, it's starting to become nice and quiet. This means that there is less traffic nowadays on the road.
Also since many people have started fleeing Dubai due to the economic crises, the police have been on strict guard. Not like before.






So nowadays the police have been on strict duty since this morning. I have no idea what's going on, I'm confused myself. Maybe a famous person is coming to Dubai or something. I don't know.
Also from what I've been hearing is that the police is now checking everyone in the car. It's more like a car search type of thing. Like they would stop the driver and ask for the driver registration and then they would see if you're drunk or not. But that's not 100% confirmed. Well it's Dubai's right to have the police check on you. This would mean that they are protecting us from harm.

Maybach VS Range Rover

The Most Luxious Car is the Maybach!

The ugliest car in the entire world, a garbage can looks better than that!

Here is a very good topic. The Range Rover (crap car) VS The Maybach (exquisite car).
I would have to admit in Dubai you can see a bunch of fugly range rovers, which is destroying the beautiful scenery of Dubai and I have to admit that the range rover looks really crappy. I'm guessing the person that came up with this idea was completely retarded. I swear this car looks like garbage and the people who drive this (no offense) simply must be insane. I would never get caught dead driving a crappy car like that. It makes me want to puke but on the other hand. I wouldn't mind driving the Maybach (exquisite car). There are many things that I can say about the maybach but I'll mention 2 of them because the rest of it you have to find it out on your own:

• It's made of high quality material and not any of the crappy material that you would find in any other car.
• Many famous people are seen using this car (like Rose & Sage from TV's Privileged)

Other than that the only thing that ruins it is that the Maybach is too expensive. Trust me I've seen the price of this and it's costs more than a 10 carat diamond ring. Wow, it's that expensive.
But when it comes to the Range Rover, you can see at least over a 100 of them zooming about accross the U.A.E. Also in Barbadous. And the Maybach is seen in some parts of the U.A.E. and in America and in European Union, also in Bill Gate's Garage :P

I'm Going Crazy:

Do You have a little time?

Do I have a little time? For what you may ask? Well I basically have no time this week to do anything for myself. There is no "Me" time anymore :( because of the amount of HW & Projects I've been receiving. Also I had started this club in my university (Name is confidential) and I managed to start a Games Club. Oh God, Finally!
Now my university will be more fun (at last) but so time consuming.
I also joined many clubs as well such as The News Club, Health & Environment Club and The Photography Club (it's about time I take some pictures for Fran's sake!).
So I will be busy with all of that. Next I am having the biggest quiz ever next week on Monday and I doubt I will be blogging a lot during the weekend.
Life is passing me by, when I move this quickly. I should try and stop for a while and blog for sometime. Maybe on Thursday night I'll blog a bit but I doubt it.

Slow Computer:

I bet the eggs would be done before my computer is ready

Stupid F***ing computer! not responding!

Have you ever had one of those days when your computer decided to act slow because you have NO viruses?
Well I am already having that day right now. My computer is just too slow. For some odd reason if I keep my computer on for about 2 - 3 hours it just suddenly SLOWS down. Normally I would have to restart it like over a billion times and when I restarted it goes like this:

1. The windows sign is loading normally
2. then the thing that says "Welcome" takes about 5 to 20 minutes just to load
3. then to make it worse as soon it has logged me in the task bar FREEZES for about another 10 minutes.
   
4. as soon as that is over when I try going on firefox or internet explorer or google chrome - expect delays-
5. and sometimes when it comes to playing my games (either The Sims 2 or Spore). You have to wait for the computer to STOP freezing just before you can play that.
6. As soon as I'm playing my game say hello to the following message "ERROR: SEND OR DON'T SEND?"

And if I had to call the computer guy he would say "the only thing we can do is to Format your computer" or "try installing Norton Gay Antivirus. It's the worst antivirus ever"
So screw that I just have to live with my pc going nuts.

Gloomy Days

Today I've noticed is one of the gloomiest days ever. I've never seen any day gloomier than today. Except from 3 years ago when my *sigh* grandma passed away. It was gloomy for quite sometime during that year.
I think I came up with the solution why this day (Tuesday, January 6, 2009). First thing is that there is a war in Gaza and the situation doesn't look good at all. These stupid Israelis are attacking Gaza as if there is no tomorrow. The UN tried stopping them but it's not working at all. So Gaza is screwed. The second thing, the people in Dubai seem to be really quiet for some odd reason. I'm not sure why everyone in this place seem to be acting sad. It's like they're mindless drones that just feel like killing themselves. The third thing is that one of my best friends ( I won't say who) is having some problems at home.
Could this day get any worse? I ask myself that. YES it will. My Grandfather today was bitching about me using the phone for a long time (which was for about exactly 6 minutes) and he's arguing with me that blah blah blah I talk a lot on the phone. Well screw that. I am not going to take any more of this bull crap. Hmm what am I going to do about my current situation?

Oh yeah and to make this even worse, you should see how sick (not as in I have the flu or something) of being on this f***ing Atkins diet. It's not even working. My mom thinks that I'm gaining weight. I don't know how I'm gaining weight when the ONLY thing I'm eating is a lot of vegetables and very little chicken and beef. WTF is this rubbish. And I ask myself, when will all this be over?


The answer is never :(


I know I shouldn't be saying things like this but now I don't even give a rats ass about this!

My day was like...

Today my day was like a movie gone wrong. I just can't explain it. Here is what happened.
I woke up at 6:15AM, then I had my breakfast and went to drop my little brother off to school, then I go to university. So I left at around 7:00AM and I reached to my university at 8:30AM because of the traffic in Al Barsha. But I did manage to get some beauty sleep on the way. Then as soon as I arrived to university, I went to see my friends who were waiting for me in the library (our meeting place on Sundays and Tuesdays in the mornings). After we met, I had to go to class. So me and my other friend were in the same class and we started heading to the class because by the time I looked at the time it was 9:00AM and class had already begun. So we rushed upstairs and when we entered the classroom NOBODY was there. Not even the teacher, nor the students (except for my friend and I). That was a little strange because class was supposed to begin around 9:00AM and the teacher arrived about 9:30AM then the students arrived between 9:45AM - 10:00AM. The reason why they came late was because of the horrible accident on Sheikh Zayed Road. What happened was a crane that was working on the metro that was close to the Trade Center fell down on to the Sheikh Zayed Road causing many accidents and traffic. Trust me, the traffic was so bad that they closed the road. So about 60% of the people from my classes were absent and that includes the faculty. So since most of the people were absent, my class had ended at 10:45AM instead of 11:00AM (because most students had other classes at 11:00AM). So then my friends and I decided to go to the Dubai Mall (my new replacement mall :P ) and have lunch at Taco Bell (a really nice mexican fast food shop). So I didn't really order much because I had lost my appetite for some strange reason. As soon as I finished eating, the whole mall was cold. Literally speaking. I was so cold, so my friends decided to have some Baskin Robins Ice Cream I didn't bother having some because I was extremely full. (I didn't even eat that much in the morning, so I was like wtf, I cannot even finish half a bowl of food). Now as soon as my friends finished having their desert, we had to start heading back to the university because I had a Psychology class at 1:30PM so we left at 1:00PM by cab, then khalas, it's time to go to class. We ended up watching a movie. But I swear to God I felt so bad before I entered the class. I had a bad migrane (even though my mobile was away from me) and I had been having a constant runny nose since God Knows when and to top things all the movie was also SO boring. I felt as if I was wasting a part of my life. lol
While I was at the mall I ended up getting a new Soundcard for my pc. Ok so back to the main topic. As soon as my class was over, I had another one but I just felt so bad. I felt like I was going to pass out and sneeze like hell. So I told the professor that I couldn't stay for the lesson and he said "but I will mark you absent" and I'm like "ok, fine but I'm not feeling well". He then asked if I had ever been absent from his class because of the rule. You cannot be absent more than 5 times or else you will FAIL the term. So I told him that it's my first time that I'm going to be absent and he was like yeah it's fine.
So then I left university and went home to sleep but I didn't because once I arrived my mom's banker came over to our house but my mother was close to the house so I had to talk to him until she came. Lucky for me my big brother saved me and he took over because I was feeling very sick today. Come on it's only like once in a billion years I get sick. So it's ok for today ONLY!

While my brother was talking to the banker, I went and slept for about 2 and a half hours and even though I slept for quite sometime I still had a bad headache. Why? I don't Know the reason. So as soon as I woke up, I drank some tea and I still had a bad headache. WTF!
What am I supposed to do, so I thought maybe if I eat something I will feel better but I was incorrect. So till now I have a headache but I cannot sleep because my phone kept ringing off the hook. First I spoke to XTR, then to Mario, then my small brother, then my big brother, then my father and then my Aunt. It was a never ending story with the phone and if I turned off my phone then everyone would have been angry at me. The middle - child syndrome still kicks in.

Now I'm sitting down and listening to some music on my pc with my new soundcard :) and I'm happy but I still feel sick. After a while I'm going to go and sleep as soon as I finish blogging and checking my Facebook. Man, I can't wait till tomorrow. I am going to be so happy. Tomorrow morning I am going to be installing my sims (at last), then my Spore, then do my boring reasearch paper and get it over with. Oh yeah and finish my English homework.
