Disturbing Weather In The U.A.E: Days 1 & 2

This week in Dubai we have been experiencing some crazy weather changes. Dubai has never experienced this type of weather in a long time. So it goes like this:
- Sandstorm - On Sunday we had a bad sandstorm and the sandstorm didn't stop until Tuesday. The sandstorm brought extremely strong winds until the satellites from roofs fall down and signs and billboards fall down. From what I've heard that in Al Ain, that the winds were really bad that in one residential area (I don't know where exactly) some of the satellites from the roof fell down (literally speaking) on some of the cars in that residential area and it was followed a big huge billboard falling down on them as well. This was pretty freaky, I wonder how the owners must be feeling now. They must be upset right now.
- Temporary Heatwave - As soon as the sandstorm started dying out, the temperatures shot up to 36*c and in some parts it was 38*c. The heatwave went on until Wednesday evening.
- Thunder & Lightning - On Wednesday evening the temperature just started dropping like crazy, strong winds were blowing sand and dust as well as other things in the air (bags were flying as well :P) and at the same time there was lightning going on and it was very cloudy but it didn't rain for 2 hours. Then suddenly at 8:45PM it had started to rain all over Dubai and at 9:00PM in the Garhoud area, it was raining and hailing. Yes it was hailing. The entire road from Garhoud to Sheikh Zayed Road was covered with hailstones. All the cars came to a sudden stop in the tunnels because of this, people were running for cover on the Sheikh Zayed Road and they were all watching the hail drop. Then the hail finally stopped and shifted towards other parts of the U.A.E. and it has hailed in Safa Park and everywhere else in Barsha. Man it was that bad. Then the rain had calmed down in Dubai. But it had started to affect Al Ain, from what I heard is that XTR called me and told me that the wind speed over in Al Ain was strong and he had never experienced anything like that. Don't worry the weather is like that accross the U.A.E. and we cannot do anything about it. UPDATE: I also heard that there was hail in Bur Dubai, Satwa, Jebel Ali & Some Parts of Sharjah, how convinient is that?
Now it's day 2 and as I look out my window I can see that it's pretty cloudy, then it gets sunny for like a few seconds then it gets back to being cloudy. It was drizzling this morning since 11AM (thats the time when I woke up) till now. But it would drizzle for a few minutes then it would just stop. My friend told me that this morning it had rained a lot so the weather was pretty bad.
OMG are you seeing whats going on outside, it's nice and sunny. Oh God I wish it would just keep raining a lot until next week. Let's hope that it rains a lot so that the ministry of education would have to give us 3 days off for the bad weather. Anyways let's get back to my story.
I was just reading some of the latest articles from Gulf News and so many things have been postponed accross the U.A.E due to the amazing weather. The following things have been affected in the U.A.E:
- The World Water Day Celebrations in Abu Dhabi has been postponed due to bad wather. It will resume on the 10th of April 2009
- Dubai World Cup's "Arabian Nights" were forced to change their location to a covered place. I think they have moved to the trade center in halls 7, 8 & 9. It's NOT cancelled or anything they just moved it there.
- Traffic - expect a lot of traffic due to the weather
- Flooding - There was a lot of flooding in the Wadis far away from Dubai, many people lost their homes due to the floods

What's Going On?

- Weird Weather hits the world - The weather has been really weird lately, it had rained a lot in Dubai. It normally rains like once every 3-5 years but this year it rained like 4 or 5 times and the weather is just nuts. Also on Sunday March 22nd 2009 we had a thunderstorm for 10 minutes, what a coincidence I think Not!
- Economic Failure - The global economy has been depleting over the past few months leaving many people homeless & jobless. This current situation is trying to get sorted out but it's a long story. I'm not going to bother explaining it.
- Polluted City - You guessed it, Dubai is one of the world's most polluted areas to be in. I don't know what Dubai has done but there's smog in town as well as dust and unexplained weather issues. Someone should call Wall-E to come and clean up our world :P
- Peace & Quiet - You expect to see or hear a lot of noise in Dubai since some people (namely me) compare it to New York City but guess again since there's a recession going on people have started packing up their things and leaving due to financial crisis
- Diabetes - Almost everyone in Dubai is diabetic and diabetes can lead to death. Well everyone in Dubai have "other plans" rather than just exercising . I don't even have diabetes which is is great thing (thank God). But the way everyone eats is ridiculous. Some people eat Mc Donalds which is filled with trans fat and God knows what else. I think health food is long gone to most of the Arabs and fast food is what's hot. Well I'm not saying that everyone does what I'm saying here. Some of the reasons could be because of the weather. The weather is boiling hot during the summer and no one can survive here :P
Top 5 For The Year 2009:
- Dido (as always Dido rocks, I have nothing else to say but You Go Dido :D )
- Britney Spears (I have to admit this Britney surpise when she released her new album Circus, she has improved a lot)
- DJ Tiesto (His music is amazing)
- Jem (yes my dear you are one of my favorite singers. Plus it's amazing!)
- Guru Josh Project (Great work in adding that person in your video Infinity )
- Heroes (who could resist this show?)

- Privileged (An interesting story at Palm Beach)

- Saints Row 2 (whether it's for the pc or for the ps3 it's amazing)
- GTA 1 -5 (Very nice but it has a few rules which you have to follow
- Spore (it's more like evolution with aliens instead of humans)

Symptoms After A Midterm:
General Formula: Midterms + quizzes + final Exams = Stress
also
Study = Not fail
Don't Study = Fail
Take a common factor and you'll get
Study = Fail :P
There are many symptoms people get after doing a midterm. I'll just tell you them in points:
- Headaches: This is the most common thing to get after you finished your midterm since you have been out for a long time.
- State Of Trance: Yes this my friends seems to be the main reason. When I say "state of trance". I mean as if you are busy dreaming about what you're going to do after you finished that midterm. Many people would get distracted from their work and they might end up failing that midterm.
- Madness: Hah and you think that most people stay sane after they had suffered a lot: Hell no they go crazy and some of them literally lose it by setting things on fire or just heading to the mall or doing something crazy.
That's 1 Thing Out Of My Mind:
This song has a weird beat to it but as you can see I'm in a state of awe (mixed feelings). I'm happy, I'm tired & I'm stressed all at the same time. Well I won't be saying many things about my Calculus midterm until tomorrow. Expect an update until then see you soon!
I know this might be a Cliche but...
Warning This video has some inappropriate language and therefore XTR & I (retrotrut) cannot be held responsible for whatever you hear in this video bellow. This video is rated 15 & above. Watch it at your own risk!
Who remembers Hillary Duff? Remember when she used to be so innocent? Well guess again she's not. People say that she is a filthy person because of her song (Insert Obscene Name Here).
Now I wonder what does that mean. If you are a fan of Hillary Duff I would recommend you stop being her fan because she's a filthy celeb. She's more like Lesbo Lohan.
As what XTR quoted "....Filthy habit, drink too much....". Who knows maybe Hillary drinks a lot. I don't know but let's just put it that way and you know what happens if you keep drinking a lot. It's like saying that farting leads to pooping as kissing leads to "getting busy". Here is the song by Hillary. If you listen to the lyrics carefully you can hear the chorus saying "I want to blow you....". LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Song That Represents Midterm Week:

Sin Francisco:
- Sin of Greed (this seems to be the main sin that's going on with the governments around the world)
- Sin of Lust (there are so many hormone crazed Romeos & Juliets in this world so you don't need to know anything else other than that)
-Sin of Gluttony (many people eat as if there's no tomorrow)
-Sin of Sloth (everyone is lazy but to a certain limit, some people HATE exercising namely me and some people LOVE exercising XTR)
-Sin of Envy (is anyone envious of my blog?)
-Sin of Pride (if there are too many people that take pride of themselves then we have a problem, they should go and see a doctor or just go to the bookstore and get something else other than "The Self Esteem Bible" which states that I love myself, I love myself....)
A very good example is this song. This song represents Sin of Greed & Lust & Pride.
It's by Britney Spears and it's called "Gimme More"
This is just a little notice that we have a bunch of sins out there and you should be very careful in what you do.

I Never Thought...
I'm talking about Jem. She's this amazing Welsh singer, she was inspired by Dido and her music is awesome. You can hear her music on 90210 (the new series).
Anyways let's get back to the story. So I was just sitting in the car and I was heading to the Mercato with my mom. So on the way to the mall I was just checking what's on the radio.
So here's what I heard on the radio:
Coast 103.2 - The same old songs over and over again. It's the same recordings again
Virgin Radio 104.4 - The untalented singer Katy Perry with her awful song - thinking of you *sigh when will she learn that we hate that song, since that song has no rhythm at all.
Dubai 92.0 - Some band, I wasn't sure who it was but they're ok
Radio 1 104.1 - Sean Paul again, sexy ladies from ............ oh please enough of that.
Classic Hits 99.3 - Jem: It's Amazing WTF since when would Dubai play this song? Of course since I had the album I thought I would see if Virgin would have any of Jem's albums and of course I was incorrect again!
Stupid Non-Virgin Rip Off store!
Here's the song, go ahead and view it if you want :)
The Reason Why The Sims 3 Was Delayed:
So I was just browsing around Snooty Sims, when I saw their featured site is called Simpedia. It's more like a Wikipedia wannabe. So I was just looking around Simpedia and they told us why The Sims 3 was delayed. It was delayed because the first cover they thought of was considered to be "adult". So they finally changed it. But that's not all why it was delayed. Here is what they said about The Sims 3:
" I'll start with the good news - the new release date's been announced, so no more nail-biting anticipation.
The bad news is pretty bad, though - it looks like it'll be released on June 2nd 2009
Russell Arons, EA's marketing VP, said the delays will give EA much-needed time to advertise the game. "The June launch combined with the break-through game the team is building gives us the perfect runway to create awareness for The Sims 3."
"The Sims 3 will be the original IP summer blockbuster of 2009 as we build off the success of the best-selling PC franchise of all time to create awareness with both loyal Sims fans and new players."
To be honest, I think most of the loyal Sims fans out there were aware of the game ever since it was first announced early 2008. The delayed release will probably just put them off.
There will be advantages, of course. The later release will lessen the "Vista effect", since by June average computer performance will be up enough for more people to be able to run the game smoothly.
And maybe anticipation isn't such a bad thing - teasers are deadly effective in the world of advertising. By June, I'm willing to bet TS3 will have an online following to equal that of even the mighty TS2. Let's just hope EA create enough 'awareness' to give us something to talk about."Global Economy Talk:
- Dubai Dry-Docks has FIRED about 4000 staff members. I know this because of one of my friends sent me the info. He said "....now that everything is going out of business (except for L.L.C. Companies that deal with it the Islamic Way), they even fired my really good friend :( ..."
- Does anybody listen to Coast 103.2 FM? Well believe it or not EVERYONE from there have been fired and they are only playing "past" recordings. They will not be answering their phones since no one is there.
- Most of the construction in the U.A.E. has stopped except down by the Marina. If you read the newspaper (name any local newspaper) and it will say "...oh the construction is still going on around the U.A.E....". They are the biggest liars. What's wrong with them? Can't they just stop covering up and just tell the truth. The truth shall set you free!
- About a few weeks ago one of the staff members from Feline Friends (the best place to get cats and also to get the best care for your cats ) Sandra Z. was forced to leave Dubai because of the economic Crisis. It was that bad. Trust me I know how it looks like.
- Now getting back to the present, most universities are "defending" their increase in their fees. As you can see Gulf News said that most universities have been increasing their fees due to the global crisis. Some students said that the fees have gone up and it's not like before. It's doubled the price or even more.
- Sama Dubai has gone bankrupt due to the global economic crisis. It was a tragic moment when that happened. They ended up firing everyone now!

Midterm Awareness Week:

As you can see that the Midterms for most of schools & universities are going to be starting really soon. All what I can say is that people have already started getting stressed out & some of them are worried about them. Oh well these are the breaks. If you feel like you're going crazy because of the midterm awareness issue then go ahead and press the imaginary Panic Button :P

Ahlan Magazine HATES Hayden & Milo:
"Why? The Hollywood rule book says celeb couples must cite “irreconcilable differences” when they split. So, imagine our delight when Hayden Pantyliner and Milo Ventimigglywiggly’s reason for breaking up promised not to mention the “I.D’s”! Until, that is, we heard it was a “lifestyle conflict.”
What is that supposed to mean?! Can’t they just admit it was the 12-year age gap and Hayd wants to date one of our hot guys (as you can see, she's a hormone - crazed Juliet)."
All of this was taken from Ahlan Magazine and I swear to God, that it's pretty funny what they said about those two. LOL!
